1974 BMW 2002 (4) speed manual

If your looking to get into a 2002 that looks and runs great, but is not necessarily a full showroom restore, then this is the car for you. The previous owner, and good friend of mine, is a mechanic and spent much time getting the vehicle running properly. Hence, most of this car’s value lies under the hood. Of positive note is a full engine re-build which currently has just over 1,500 miles on it.

Body and paint are in good condition, but close inspection will expose various imperfections and some surface rust at trim locations. Of major positive note is that there is no major rust which is relatively rare for a car of this age. Of negative note, the car appears to have had some front end body work performed at some point in its life - underside of hood and part of the engine compartment have primer finish. Also of negative body note, the vehicle has a small amount of hail damage.

The Good:

• Manual transmission with rebuilt clutch
  
• Re-built engine (including resurfaced head, new valves, seals, etc.) completely removed from the vehicle, steam cleaned and re-built. Only 1,500 miles of use.

• rebuilt radiator
  
• new shocks
  
• big brake job (Volvo 240)
  
• new high amp alternator with integral voltage regulator
  
• new vinyl front and back seats
  
• new carpet
  
• new after market vintage look stereo with Ipod hook-up
  
• new blaupunkt speakers (rear only)
  
• New battery
  
• all electrical works (wipers, turn signals, reverse, headlights, brake, parking, etc).
  
• all glass in good condition, no cracks
  
• smog exempt for CA buyers + have old emissions parts to meet visual
  
• AZ registered till Sept. 2013
  
• title in hand
  

The Bad:

• some light surface rust around trim
  
• some small hail damage
  
• vehicle had front end replaced at some point in its life – (engine compartment inside face and underside of hood just grey primer – see pic)
  
• driver side front fender & hood have small crack and dent (see pic)
  
• driver side “B” pillar dented – (see pic)
  
• weather stripping around windows is dry and will need to be replaced
  
• trunk locks but doors do not
  
• worn headliner – various cuts and tears
  
• center driveshaft bearing makes clunking sound and will eventually need to be replaced – have part
  
• no spare tire – do have rim
