WTB: Side Hood hinge

Hi, If anyone has a hood hinge available please let me know. They're the two side hinges that attach to the cross bar used to hold the hood open for display/repair. I just need one hinge. Thanks. Khai

I do not have any, but those hinge arms are "side-specific". Do you need the right or left side.

PO took out the hinges so I don't have any. I've seen people use just one side.

You may have seen someone use just one, but I would definitely not recommend it. I've been around 2002s for over 30 yrs, been to a couple of 2002 Fest Wests, five BMW CCA O'Fests, and I've never seen an '02 with just one hinge arm.

With one, you would put undue strain on the front hinges, and, invite a warping of the hood itself. And, because I've never seen it, I'm not sure how well the hood cross-spring tube would work with only one side connected. The adjusting of those hinges is also part of getting your hood to fit correctly.

I strongly recommend you score a pair at the same time. Try putting your WTB on the Parts Wanted board. Might help you get some.
