Battery Cable gauge

I've checked a couple of cable design sources and 4Ga cable is rated to 300A over 16ft. That seems plenty for a relocating battery to trunk (assuming normal usage). I currently have 0 gage cable that I don't like. Was thinking when I rewire the car and add a distribution block in front, would go with a narrower gage wire.

Would like to hear from an expert in this area.

wrong forum(should be in general discussion). 4g is fine, that's what TEP uses with their kits and they wouldn't sell it if it didn't work. Now if you've got a sh*t load of electronics to run and a 140amp alternator, 0g would be a better choice.

4g is nice, you can buy it at the autoparts store(sold as alternator cable) for ~$2/ft, only need 15' to do the relocation...or use an old car stereo amplifier power cable, most of those are 0-4g.
