ITB has never been a national class. it has been a regional class since its inception. I was on the National SCCA IT Advisory Council for many years setting the SCCA IT rules and classifying the cars....I am pretty familiar with how it works....

the bumper is not about appearance, it is about weight. deleting it creates an advantage by removing it from the end of the car.

ITB is extremely competitive on the east coast and folks play by the rules. you would never make it to the grid without a front bumper here. we get 25+ ITB cars for every MARRS race in the DC Region, about half dozen are 02's. It is dissapointing to hear there are places that ignore the rules.

you still have a nice car, just not ITB legal...;-)

Those pictures were most likely not taken at an SCCA event, as there is no way that car would leave the grid without the prerequisite SCCA stickers adorning the car. My suspicion is that the car was legal for the organization it was running that day. Add a bumper and stickers and you are legal for ITB. I think that the car can be run in multiple organizations is a big plus for selling the car.
