White 71" 2002 Roundie for sale

I am parting ways with my 2002. I bought this car two years ago with the intention of making a lightly modified street car out of it. However my father and I are restoring a 911 at the same time and we need space to finish that. The car was stock when I got it, but we added many performance parts. The engine runs very strong with a 38/38 Weber, Ireland exhaust, and a 320 radiator. I have driven this car from Vegas to San Francisco in the middle of the summer and the temp gauge did not pass 50%. The car comes with Recaro seats and a new carpet kit. The gauge cluster was just restored and the interior painted white so you wont be driving by candlelight. The suspension has been rebuilt with powdercoated components, Eibach sport springs, and Bilstein Sport shocks and struts. The car handles very well. The tires have about 80% left on them with steel wheels (I have the hub caps as well). The car does have some body damage to the rear where it was hit two years ago. I have taken her to World Class 1600. (http://www.worldclass1600.com/) I was quoted $5,000 to paint and do all the bodywork, PPG with clear coat. I have taken off the side trim plus the front and rear reflectors and welded the holes. The car comes with a four speed but I have a good five speed that is ready to go in that I am willing to sell with the car. I also have a newly rebuilt large port 1976 head with a Schrik 289 cam that I am willing to sell with the car. The car drives great and is ready to be made into your dream. It is located in Irwindale CA in a climate controlled garage. I am asking $2,500 but I am flexible. I have many more pics and would be happy to send them. The ones I took are too big for FAQ so if you need pics please email me here or at boldtu@gmail.com. I will take some pics that are smaller and post them ASAP. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask. Thanks for looking

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

    The BMW 2002 Production Run

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
