Henning 485 Posted February 27, 2015 Color already chosen, Lisa? Imploringly hoping it'll be painted black again. Darn, I would give such a lot if my car was black, too... sigh Hen Link to comment
Lisa.02P 700 Posted February 28, 2015 Hey there Henning! Color has already been chosen! Color will be revealed after paint! ;-) <I can keep you guessing can't I?> LOL Lisa Link to comment
Henning 485 Posted February 28, 2015 "...but I have this eye for black cars..." Maybe an idea for some wild guesses. Please exclude: sahara, riviera, mintgrun and all the reds, then I'll be with you. Hen Link to comment
Lisa.02P 700 Posted February 28, 2015 LOL!... good investigative work Henning! :-) We all know that black is such a hard color to keep clean .... and making sure there are NO swirl-marks! Link to comment
Henning 485 Posted February 28, 2015 That's a lower-ranking aspect, Lisa. Black cars do not only look good in the shade, as Gino means. And: black is a really rare color on 02s! Keeps people washing their cars! Link to comment
katmandu 4 Posted February 28, 2015 Black is not that hard to keep after. I use 3M Perfect It to polish our black convertible and wax with Zymol Carbon - occasionally tended after washing with Meguiar's spray on liquid wax. The shine is deep and nary a mark or burnish shows anywhere. When one does, you can hand apply the Perfect it, rewax, and it totally disappears. In addition, the 3M Perfect It comes in a formula for dark cars in order to avoid the dreaded white wax residue in all the crevices / seams. The Zymol Carbon offers the same benefit. I just had it at my local BMW dealer for an airbag replacement (the car is 12 years old and caught in the Takata debacle) and the service writer couldn't believe how good the car looked. Nothing is prettier than a well maintained black car. Our other car is a pearl white and I find it far more annoying to maintain as the paint is fragile and chips/scratches if you look at it funny. Lisa.02P 700 Posted March 1, 2015 90% of my cars have been black. When I was at SOCAL VINTAGE last year... I didn't see 1 black 02! So strange!!! So I guess that's why I am putting a lot of effort in getting the body right on this 02.... ;-) The schwarz is coming ..... Link to comment
