  1. Great project base for sale. Please read the entire ad. Price reflects what is included. - Former S14 car. No engine currently installed. - 4 speed trans/driveshaft included. Non Tii booster installed, rear diff is not a LSD. - The Recaro front seats are sold. No front seats installed. Can include a set of E21 Recaros (one very nice, one not so nice) for extra. Nardi wheel. Rest of the interior is black and in very good shape, dash has cracks, headliner is stained on front of sunroof edge. - Complete (but disassembled) not matching numbers 72 Tii engine to go with it. I have a full gasket set, clutch kit, and other odds and ends. Radiator, various hoses, belt, complete Tii injection system and Tii distributor. Freshly rebuilt (valve job, all guides new) E12 Cylinder head has a Norris 301 cam with lash caps that needs to be installed. The pistons it had in it were for a 121 head, and I have a set of barely used Metric Mechanic 10:1 forged pistons for a E12 head to go with. Also a set of lightened OE rods (one needs to be finished) and a knife edged 2.0 crank that is at Mile High Crankshafts in Denver for repair currently. The original euro tii 121 10;1 pistons, rods, and crank will be included as well. Unknown brand headers (look very much like Alpina, but I cannot verify this) - I would assume it is lowered, but I do not know the springs, shocks are Bilstein rears, assuming matching fronts. Nice sway bars front and rear. - Enkei wheels will not be included, will be sold on E30 bottle caps. - Rust, but not as bad as a lot of 02s I have seen. See photos. Rear quarter and sill has rust, driver rear fender lip has rust. Nose is rusty in places and the driver fender is buckled. The car was originally Agave and during the repaint they must not have done the rust repair correctly. When it had the S14, the IE trans mount was starting to tear through the tunnel and apparently someone decided to clearance the tunnel with an axe for the 5 speed swap. Can be repaired. Minor floor rust on outer edges of fronts. - Overall very solid Tii project roller. With a ton of cool parts to build a real hotrod. I was going to ditch the Tii injection and install itbs and a Haltech to utilize the full benefit of the race car bottom end parts and cam. Add a light flywheel and just drive the hell out of it as it sits. - In addition, I have a full original Dinan suspension setup. Springs, swaybars and shocks. S14 crank that needs repair, rods, pistons and cams from the same S14. One set of S14 cam gears. Two S14 flywheels. - Clean Colorado title. Please view the google drive for every angle of the car you could want. 1972 Tii For Sale - Google Drive DRIVE.GOOGLE.COM Car is located in Northwest Colorado Springs. Thanks for looking, - Jon
  2. Hey all. Still have the car and I have lowered the price. Looking to make a deal. This is a solid car with some really good parts. Knife edged crank is still in Denver for repair. Hoping it will be finished soon.
  3. @_ajax I do too. They are my favorite wheel in the collection. I'll be putting them on my E21 after the sale of the 02. Thanks for the comment!
  4. Update 10/16/23: Price has been lowered. Pretty firm at this point. Knife-edge crank is in Denver for repair. Should be done in a week or two. Thanks everyone for looking.

  6. Hey all. I recently started going through my hoard. I'm trying to free up some funds to put my Tii project back into motion after being stalled for a year and a half. I have no use for these parts and would like some extra space in the garage as well. Not trying to get rich but also don't want to give it all away. Will ship at buyers expense. Detailed pictures of everything available, just didn't want to overload the thread. First, Stock M10 Crank out of the 72 block. Main and rod bearings were stamped STD and it looks to be in great condition. My coworker built this engine 40 years ago (his side income was building M10s at the time) and it probably had 50k miles on it when it was pulled out and put in storage 20 years ago. The shell was going to scrap, that is why it was pulled. I have a knife edged crank I'll be using. $200? Comps are all over the place. Second, Euro Tii 10:1 pistons (121 type) and stock rods from the same engine. 89.96 bore stamp. I cleaned them gently and was able to get 99% of the carbon off. Still a tiny bit present on the edges of some of the crowns. Minor scoring on the skirts and small dinks present on some skirts and piston tops, appear to be totally useable. I just have a set of Metric Mechanic pistons I'll be using instead. $400? Open to reasonable offers. Third, Stock S14 Crank out of an 88 M3. This was removed when we sent the block to VAC to have them install their 2.7 Stroker kit. It had spun #3 prior to being taken apart. I took it to my machinist to have it polished since the journal didn't look bad, and he said "It's close, but usable." My cheap caliper doesn't show any measurable variation between any of the journals, but I'm not a machinist. I'd like $500 for this but am open to offers. Fourth, Stock rods and pistons out of the same 88 M3. they are in pretty good shape, but number 3 bearing bore is pretty scored. $300? Open to offers. I have two sets of S14 stock cams and cam gears as well. One set is great, the other has small nicks on a few of the lobes. Make offer. I also have three M10 S14 stock flywheels. Two of them have the S14 TDC pin. One is stock 2002. I'll be using a RHD Engineering flywheel with this build. Make offer. I'll be going through a lot more of the hoard sometime soon. Thanks for looking and please reach out with any questions. - Jon

  8. Thanks all. I will check the booster the next time I am over working on the car, as well as the engine serial for those that have been asking. The car it came out of was a Ceylon 72, that unfortunately was way too rusty to save at the time, (before these cars were worth a down payment on a house). The wheels that were on it when I purchased it were a set of Panasports. I am not a fan, so I sold them shortly after picking up the car. The Enkeis that are on the car now are what I will most likely run during my ownership. As for the S14, it was pulled out of this car at the same time we pulled the S14 out of the white M3 in the photos. We sent the blocks off to have VAC put their 2.7 bottom end kit in them, and we are almost done putting them back together to go back into the cars. I'll have to get some photos of the 02 chassis one is going in because it is pretty wild body work wise (everything about it, actually). We were told to build the M3 like it was ours and money was no object. Carbon airboxes, Maxx standalone, Schrick cams, DTM exhaust manifold, Supersprint exhaust. Etc... Both engines are going to be built to the same spec and management. As for keeping it, I'm still unsure. I love the fact that it's not perfect, rusty, and has a non-original past. I have a dream E21 build sitting around (a tribute car to my late father) that the sale of this Tii would fund. Though, I am definitely not going to sell it as soon as it's done. I've driven and worked on a handful of 02's at my job but have never gotten the chance to throw one around and drive at 10/10th's. That's the plan with this one.
  9. Hey Jim. Thank you. It is a really decent car. That is why I'm so eager to return it to being a Tii and make it solid mechanically so it can be used and enjoyed. I am located in Colorado Springs.
  10. Happy Friday everybody. I wanted to introduce myself and this project to the forum. It's been quite a while since I've logged a project on a forum. But with this one, I think it's worth making a record of it. The car is a 72 Tii, originally Agave, repainted Fjord probably 20 years ago. S14 was installed in the late 2000's, and removed by me at my work in 2020. The owner wanted a fresh, rust free chassis to install the 2.7 stroker S14 we were to build. After dynoing the stock S14, and removing it, I put one of my business cards on the dash and asked the owner to keep me in mind if he were to decide to sell the chassis. About 6 months after he picked it up, I got a call and made arrangements to go retrieve it. I was unaware on the way there, but upon arrival he had a 72 (not numbers matching to the chassis) Tii engine, unknown headers, 4 speed trans and driveshaft, and what I was told is the full original Dinan 2002 suspension package (springs, shocks, swaybars) waiting to go with the car. I was shocked and very thankful as he included these items in the sale of the car and he even lowered the price we had agreed on. We took the car home, and it has lived outside under a cover until the beginning of this month. I have set a goal to make it run and drive before May of this year, so as to take it on a maiden voyage for the Hagerty Silver Summit Rally here in Colorado. The Tii engine I was given was actually built by my manager at work sometime in the early 80's. It has a Norris 301 cam and euro Tii 10:1 pistons. Though, upon disassembling the engine to reseal and refresh it, as it had been sitting for at least 25 years, I discovered that it had Bathtub pistons with a E12 head. At first, I had planned to just throw a 121 head on it, but after discovering the E12 head was a 72 casting and original to the block, I've decided to find the correct high crown piano pistons and put it back together properly. Using my vapor blasting cabinet where I can to rejuvenate the aluminum bits. I want it to look as good as it is going to run. Hopefully. As I am not a wealthy man, I'm trying to complete the project on as little budget as possible. I will not be fixing the rust. I just want it to run and drive incredibly well and get some serious enjoyment out of driving the heck out of it, then hopefully pass it on to a new owner and use the funds to do the same thing with an 82 320is we have. I am excited to share the progress through the project, and I know I'll have a plethora of questions through the next several months so I am very excited to be a part of the FAQ community. Here are a few pictures of the car when I pulled the S14 and the progress I've made so far. - Jon Maudlin
