Will it be impossible for me to find a good used original kkk turbo, mechanical fuel pump and entire injection system for a 74 turbo? I am looking at a project car that will need all of these items and more. Just wondering if you think I would ever be able to find them and what the approximate price would be?

I've seen some turbos with the VDO gauges being bright red, yet other cars are a darker red almost brownish. Did they have two different productions? Or is one set restored or faded from time?

Hello Turbo Experts-
Real close to wrapping up the deal in Europe. The car I am looking at has foam on the underside of the hood above the engine. Is that correct?
Also, do any of you know what color seam sealer the factory used on the rear shock towers? Small chip in the paint where the shock tower meets the trunk indicates a yellow beige underneath.
Much thanks- Fares

Here is a cal pics of what I am looking at. Because of all the great help here, I figured out they are the 5.5 steelies. Turns out the Turbo I am looking at in Europe has the optional 6 inch wheels, which seem to be harder to find. By the way, I was told the production date on these 5.5s was 1974, however, I do not see that in the photos. Could they have stated building wheels way back in 74 for the e21?

The 5 speed sunroof is restored years ago but no documentation.

ok, found out the wheels are 5.5x13 steel turbo wheels with an offset of 18. I believe they are stamped 74. I was told today that these are the standard wheels that came on the turbo and there was an optional 6 inch wide, which I think came as alloy. A majority of turbos I see have the Alpina wheels. I am guessing most people back in the 70s and 80s put on the Alpina wheels and got rid of the turbo wheels.

I really appreciate everyone's input. The car in Germany with sunroof and 5 speed does indicate the sunroof on CoA. Unfortunately no build sheet available. I have asked for pictures of any markings on the tranny hoping to at least determine if it is from the correct era. Does anyone know what I could look for in these markings?
To answer one of the questions, yes, we would drive the car on occasion, take to shows but otherwise would be properly stored.

Recently found what appear to be a set of 4 original wheels for a Turbo. Almost every Turbo I see has Alpina wheels. I am hoping to purchase a Turbo and it seems doubtful it will come with the original wheels. I can't find any prices online that I can use as a reference. Don't know if they are worth $500 or 2k. Any help would be appreciated.

I have been a BMWCCA member for over 30 years and have owned many BMWs, including 2002s. I am finally close to purchasing my first ever Turbo.
I have narrowed my search down to 2 cars in Europe. First is a silver 74 with sunroof and 5 speed, restored with a BMW Classic CoA. has German registration with 5 owners but no other documentation.
The second Turbo is also silver 74 with a 4speed and no sunroof. Extremely clean, low mileage, CoA and great documentation.
Both cars equally clean but the 4 speed/no sunroof car probably edges out the others because of less owners and lower miles.
The biggest question I have is, how to determine the value of the 5 speed and sunroof?
Any advice is much appreciated. Thanks- Fares
Turbo Model Number EB32G? The only one?

Had someone overseas offer me what is allegedly a KKK turbocharger off a 74. However the Model number is clearly K04 not EB32G. Did they ever make a superseded model number or a re-run of turbos after the cars were built?
