. I stand by my comments. Nothing personal The asking price is overvalued plain and simple

Yes shop costs ,especially  body and paint , are a killer . If you don't start a project with a budget and exercise budget control you will likely overspend because of surprises and upgrades

But just because somebody has put too much money into a project doesn't mean he should expect to get it back because he a "good guy"  That's not the criteria for value

If you think people are lining up to overpay for the BIG NEW thing is Southern California,  please get their names. I'd be happy to supply more cars They can be sourced from people who understand these cars, they  actually turn wrenches and support other enthusiasts  That's the positive perspective

@rstclarkThe owner is "good guy" because when I need a favor or part, he's there to help. That's a good guy in my opinion. This forum is a way to connect fellow enthusiasts to help and advise others, make friends, share a beer, and drive and love our cars.   The fact that he doesn't respond to negative postings further underscores that.

Why don't you call Erik at Coupe King or Carl at La Jolla Independent to see what a PROPERLY DONE 2002 shell goes for, not a complete car, just a shell.  I am not talking about a crappy JB weld job and patch panels and bondo, complete metal work, correct floor pans, welding and proper body lines. Just reach out and ask.    I have seen their cars and they get top dollar bc THEY ARE DONE CORRECTLY.

"supporting other enthusiasts" by calling them an "insufferable fool" and implying the seller "trying to take advantage"  is not the kind of support I am looking for or many others are looking for imo.  Blasting people with presuppositions is a problem this whole world is facing... as my father once said "if you dont have something good to say then keep it to yourself."

Oh PS  if you have $ 12,500 in this project    you're an  insufferable  fool  and you better get ready to face reality when you unload

Really   Somebody needs to call you out  and I don't mind it being me

This forum is for enthusiasts and those who are here to

share and help one another  not for those trying to take advantage of those who are uninformed

Okay I'm off my soapbox now

LBRex isnt trying to "take advantage" of anyone. He & I are fellow e9 coupe owners and tii owners. I know the car and Rex's character.  He may have paid too much for his project and didn't realize the extent of the restoration and costs,  but the car is being repaired correctly.  @rstclark Why don't you get your facts straight about someone and repair costs before you throw someone under the bus.  With restorations being the BIG NEW thing here in Socal our shop costs have skyrocketed bc the shops are super busy...KEEP YOUR COMMENTS POSITIVE...not cool

  3. I am looking for a decent, not perfect,  lower long bottom section for a 3 piece dash.  See pic below.  If you have the gauge surround piece in decent condition also i am interested.  Dont worry about condition as i will have it redone here.

    See pic.
