My desire is to keep it an automatic...thanks for the information FunkyLaneO...does anyone know the year range for the 318i automatic I should look for?
-
I purchased a 75 shell with an auto trans and no engine, I'm reworking the car and installing a known good engine I have no information if the automatic transmission is any good and I'm thinking of trying to find an upgrade automatic if I'm going this far down the road to "restore" this one owner...what would be the best year/model to look far in an automatic? thanks Barney
this is what I have now...

I think those are known as the 2.5 mile per hour bumpers late 72-73 as they moved to those good looking 1974 5 mile per hour impack bumpers

Wanted to let everyone know what great service I had from Ireland engineering, I purchased an SS exhaust system from them after a few months I developed a rattle inside the resonator I called IE and within days I received a new resonator...I've always been happy with IE this experience just reinforced my positive feeling about them...Barney

best thing would be to have another car there to look at...if a picture is worth a 1000 words what would another car to look at be worth...
-
arminyack...one more thing, when I took out the coverage I paid like $75 more to be able to get what was left of the car back if it was totaled...a basic 72/74 2002 was valued at 20k and a 73 tii was at 25k....seems like I told them I drive each car a 100 are so miles every other week came out to less than 3000 miles a year...best of luck...Barney

interested thread please keep us informed of how it goes, I have my three 2002s with hagerty's as well, we talked about limited mileage like to car shows and for pleasure...pleasure sure seems to cover a lot of area...in the end they never did ask me for the mileage on any of my cars so how will they know how many miles I've put on the cars...
did you give them the mileage on your car? the way I remember it was three thousand miles a year per car

he will never sell that car with only four pictures posted...It will many more to capture the unique/custom finishes, yes it is one of a kind.

that looks great, I look at all the 2002 parts and pieces I have left over and think about an art project...maybe when I retire.

the latest from Terry on the event....
We ran the rally route yesterday and all is going great! This will be a fun event---and lots of people are coming! Better call the Peach Tree Inn right away if you haven't already done so. about 20 rooms are taken and I know some of you are still waiting. It's definitely more fun if we're all together. Terry

I have seen 2002s that I liked a lot more for 15k less, the cost of membership to this club is going up every day...I'm not sure it would be worth 35K if it was in a time capsule since new and opened today...
