Hey Steve,
It is in the 152 group and precisely #1522827. Yep it's got a hole in the roof as well as being triple schwarz. Agreed on the voltage - not winter friendly but not impossible to live with. We rarely see sub-30 weather here in Northern California, so 6V systems are not horrible to live with but they do need to be in good working order. There has always beeen some confusion as to the model nomenclature through the years but as you know it's simpler than complicated. This example is a life-long California Bay-Area car, now happily living close to Lake Tahoe.

Steve, yes it is pre-September and was built in May. The rear bumper lights are original. Technically this is a 1600, not 1602 or 1600-2. Good catch on the strap grab handles - it does have a sunroof. Apparently 6-volts was enough to get things going back then I have only found one non-original part on the car and will upload a pic tomorrow ... you'll like it.

Perfectly original early '67 1600. Schwarz exterior, schwarz interior panels/carpet and schwarz seats. It has never been painted. This car did go through Hoffman but was not caught under the umbrella of a US spec car -- side marker lights, DOT goodies, headrests, smog equipment, etc. So, Schwarz cars did and still do exist in all of their simple elegance.

Hey Burndog - we had just picked up Hynrgee's '75 for some maintenance and were returning back up to Chicago Park. We managed to wave just as we passed each other. Your car and headlights were mesmerizing -- really looked good.

Hey Steve,
Nice invoice - Hans VW was down in Sacramento for a few years back in the day. I do not have the original sales invoice for this car ... yet, though ya never know what the future might deliver to your doorstep. The only non-original piece that was on the 1600 was the 'Carter' fuel filter pictured below. I removed it when I first got the car but will probably reinstall it at some point. Humans are suckers for nostalgia -- me included.
