  1. Ok, thank you very much :). How much hp do you think that this setup should have? m10b18 within keihin cvk carbs (39mm), 10:1 cr, 292 cam, ported polished head, lightened flywheel, ignitech ignition unit, supersprint manifold. Engine will be fully rebuilded.
  2. We have here 92, 95 and 98. For now with stock i run 95, and with modified i will run 98 probably or 95 and retarded timing. I want to use programable ignition unit based on a/f sensor so detonation should be fine. So best will be 292 cam and cr around 10:1. So if i mill head 0,5mm that should be ok, right? Stock engine have 9,5:1 i think. I was scared about detonation because i want to use this engine 90/10 street/track and 11:1 is very big for street driving.
  3. I know that i notice it, but best effeciency is with compression 11:1 or more, this is the deal...but on the other side...for me....This project is 90% street project and 10% track/race project....so is it worth it to try to go 11 or more cr?Or 10,5:1 with 292 some head work, bike carb and programmable ignition will be enough?
  4. Toby B: if i use 121ti head, that i need to modify 1.8i pistons, becase they have very big p dome on them. The reason why i post this is, that only one 2.0 crank in our country is ONLY chamge for rear whole axle from e21 323i not for sell :'(. First i'm trying to make it budget. I don't have problem to put some staff on cnc machine or something like that. Problem is to find some 2.0 crank or 121ti head. Easiest think is to mill the head and use thin head gasket. I want to use it with 292 cam. One friend said to me, that i need to have at least 11:1 cr to be most efficient with that cam. Is that right? I want to build funnier m10 engine. But stay N/A.
  5. Hi Guys, how much we can mill the head with 1,8i in it? Without losting liveproof of that engine. I'm triyng to get bigger CR without race pistons or b20 crank. Is there any other chance to get bigger CR? I've find that 121ti head have smaller combustion chamber, but i'dont know if it will work with modified stock pistons.Thank you :-)
  6. Ok, but how can i them recognize? I was seen some picture were are numbers on secondary pipes. He doesn't have them, so no numbers no logos or anything. I know that e30 alpina was original r6, but that was my question. Is there or anywhere someone that build m10 alpina (original or replica, doesn't matter) engine in e30?
  7. I think that he has only this two parts:/. Will i see some increase from stock m10 heavy headers?:D This will help me in sophia choise between FI and NA way:D. Is there some alpina m10 replica in e30?:D
  8. Hi Guys, please what are those headers? I have one offer, but before a i will buy them i would like to know what are they, and if are they worth it for my future project? I think that they are supersprint or alpina. I know that secondary pipes missing, but i could make them. Are they wort it for 163 bucks? 10 years unused and waiting in trunk. Thank you. I would like to use them on my E30 with M10B18 engine. In future i hope with bike carbs, edis and megajolt, 292 cam, ported and polished head and MAYBE ( if i have enough money :D) B20 stroker. Are those headers good for this setup, or it will be better to make some custom piece? PS: Sorry for my english PS1: Not my engine in Picture
  9. Hi, is it possible to use M40 starter on M10? Why? Because it lighter and smaller. I have one from old engine so car wirrness is ready for it (have 4 wires). I hear something dad m40 starter is little bit longer inside of gearbox and scratch to clutch. Is that right? Should it be modded? Thank you guys.
  10. She is alive!!!!!! ECU was dead. I need to clean it little bit, make valve adjustment, spark change and other small stuffs, but it's alive .
  11. No i don't. I need to check that. Yes it' left only ECU, and check that RD/WH wire to injectors. But how i said, on the relay pin 87(injectors) and 87b(pump) should be connected inside. So i think that this should be fine. I try to make some easy ECU pinout and find that on the ECU should be 3 grounds, pin 5,13 and 25. Pin 1 should be from dizzy ( when rotate key to 1.position on this pin is energy). Pin 4 should be starter signal (BK/Y wire). How i post before at ecu connector is 6pin connector (maybe c104) and have 3 wires. Green was signal for pump relay, than here is black/blue from harnness should be tacho and brown/yellow from ecu, should be connected also injectors and is different for few diagarams on internet. On few is like ground for injectors and on another is fuel rate for economy gauge. PS: Should be grounded case of ECU? While testing it's sits on floor at passenger carpet.
  12. Wire is connected and pump wortking, but still injectors are dead :/. I'm lost guys. I downloaded few ETM's but i don't know for what i need to search. Injectors are connected to pump relay to pin 87 and on 87b is connected pump. This two pins should be connected together inside the relay. So this is not maybe that problem, and the other side is connected to ECU. I don't what everything affects working of injectors.
  13. SOOoo toady i was with car few hours. ECU is under power, main relay get power too. But problem is that that whole injection system didn't. I think that is wire 15 on pump relay. Where this wire should go?
  14. I told this problem to one friend and he said to me that problem should be also no power to ECU. This is little bit stupid, becasue when i did harnesss i didn't tested this
  15. Thanks for replay. I found this pdf (https://www.google.cz/search?q=M10B18+wiring+diagram&biw=1048&bih=551&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwi87vqC-K3LAhWCYJoKHdhBAJwQ_AUIBigB#tbm=isch&q=518i+wiring+diagram&imgrc=ut8K-afHFggA6M%3A) and on last page is shown that distributor ( number 2) is conected to ignition module and from that is wire to connect between ecu unit and pump relay it is shown as TD (. Shoud be this wire in connector C103 at ecu unit? I will read that page maybe there is more info about that. EDIT: On your pdf is shown wire from C103 to C104 (it to pump relay as power input) should be this my problem? I don't have connected this connector.
  16. Fuel pump not working because she didn't get signal from relay. If i bridge it, the work. I found that i'm not connect connector C103 at ecu unit and there i have 3 wires Ignition pulse, combo relay ignition voltage, signal to eco meter (or maybe ignition, tacho, ground). So i think that this should be that problem because one wire ( combo relay ignition voltage) maybe can make this problem. You mean tach signal like cam position sensor? We change pump relay and it didn't work.
  17. Hi awesome build man, want to build something similar in future. Do you have some hp numbers on that build? Or fuel consumption? It will be nice to see difference between stock engine, carb'd and itb setup. Thank you. Or if you say that differnce between stock and itb is hell big it's enough .
  18. Hi Guys, i would like to ask. I know that it's not 2002 car but have same engine. I have E30 M10B18 swapped from E28 (1984). It's EFI version. Starter working, ignition working too, but my problem is that fuel pump didn't work and also injetors did not open. If i manually start fuel pump (bridged relay voltage), i can hear that it work but still injectors didn't work. My friends think that problem is in distributor position sensor. But i can't found any info about this connection between this sensor and injetion. Everyone right that this sensor is connected only to ignition and ignition unit (siemens version). I think that wiring is connected well, only one cable that is at ECU unit ( 6 plug white connector with 3 used wires, tacho, ground and ignition i think) is not connected to car wiring. Anybody know something about this problem? Thank you.
  19. I know that it will be expensive. Many thinks i can do myself, and don't think that will cost that much. First i need to buy another engine and rebuild that with new parts. I find that i need crank and pistons (rod also??) from B20 and it gave me 2,0litre and 8:1 comp, is that wright? It will be good for turbo. What i need to change buy for turbo project? Engine: ARP studs, metal head seal, crank B20, pistons B20 and complete rebuild and celaning piston rings a nd valve seals if it will be necessary anything else? Will getrag and stock clutch handle that power? Engine bay: Turbo, intercooler, piping, bow, wastegate (if it's not in turbo), custom ecu (i think that stock will be good max. for 170hp), turbo headers, bigger injectors? anything else? Yeah i know M20 will be much easier, but i like M10 engines and i want to make some nice 4 banger . Also with M10 in it, it have better handling. PS: I don't need 180hp at first. 150hp will be still good. So maybe turbo it with stock ecu with small boost (like 0,5-0,6 bar) and than change successively other parts.
  20. Hi Guys, i don't have 2002 but i have E30 with M10 swaped in it, and i think that there will be most informated guys about this engine. Would way will be best to reach 150-180hp? Some day i would like to stroke that engine with M10B20 crank (but it only dream it's very hard to find this components in our country). For now i thinking about 3 ways: Carb weber or some bike carb like mikuni or keihin ITB's Turbo I don't know with way will be best for this engine. I want something with best power/fuel consumption ratio . I would like to make vintage race style so carb or itb will be better, but if think that turbo will be more effective. How big is differnce? Thank you guys for your help. PS: I'm from czech republic so sorry for my english
