  1. I'm assuming u meant "made" an there aren't really many choices, there is Spain, US, or Asian knockoffs, or an old Italian one... but they haven't made them there forever
  2. I ordered a set of dcoes from them and didn't have any problems with payment or delivery, but i gathered that if i did it would have become a complete hassle. i called to ask a couple of questions, and i kind of knew what to expect, so i saw their unhelpful and short responses as a quaint visit to NY. their prices are so goddamned low that it was hard to resist. don't expect any after support or follow up. and the thing about the carbs being licensed by weber NA, the dcoes are safe, those aren't licensed to be recreated by weber NA, they are genuine made in spain. you would just have to watch out for the others. matt
  3. I used to live in orange county and there isn't much around. I moved down to oceanside and there is an ecology a couple blocks from my house. I have never seen a 2002 there but there are always tons of e30s and some e21s. Ecology is kind of expensive and kinda lame, but i still go there every few months to look around.
  4. i did it just how the instructions said and it worked out perfectly. the hardest part i think was getting that damn big nut off (had to use a pipe wrench) matt
  5. I vowed to never again have a car that I had to smog... it is such a hassle if you want to do modifications, other states are way more lenient... If you plan on modifying it or just want to be rid of the hassle, trade it in for a '75 or older! matt
  6. i used to get kuhmos in high school, but that was because they are cheap. I don't think i would ever try them again unless there were no other options matt
  7. tire size makes a huge difference, i just put on 205-50-15, rolled the fenders, pulled them out and have a ton of negative offset, and it is still real close, but the car is super low... I wouldn't really bother with a 7.5 wheel anyway matt
  8. just did this today to cut and install ireland coilovers. its really easy. it all comes off intuitively, no stuck bolts, and i didn't even have to compress the springs. just cover it with a towel once it is off when you take off the top bolt. the gland nut is kind of a bitch if you don't have a large adjustable wrench and need to use a pipe wrench m@
  9. omg install a wide band o2 sensor.... haven't done it yet on the bimmer but have on other cars it makes dialing in the a/f ratio so easy. Plus if u have a bunch of cars you just need a bung on each and only use the sensor when you are tuning and it will last forever, just don't forget to plug it up
  10. In california, you can drop coolant and paint and whatever at the household hazardous waste center, you just have to make an appointment and it is generally a pain in the ass. I have found that stray cats love the stuff too
  11. the grill looks kind of sad upsidown
  12. damn i just got the bushings last week from u guys! BTW i can't say enough how awesome ireland has been with my recent purchase matt
  13. there is a sahara in "the official stance thread" version 1 that looks pretty cool, surfer style i guess.... get one of those tiki license plate frames matt
  14. I just bought a pair brand new for $339 a piece from weber carbs direct.... and yes they are genuine webers made in spain, the dcoes are not licensed to be reproduced by weber north america. they charge no tax (to california) and free shipping. I went round and round trying to decide if i should buy used and with something that is relatively difficult to tune i didnt want the headache of thinking that there was a problem internally with the carbs when i was trying to set them up, so i bought new.... I recon i would have paid around $200 a piece for used ones, but it seems that people were asking way more. hope this helps, matt
  15. hey guys, they are cv shafts, so i guess short neck, thanks again
  16. One website said it was produced in Feb of 68 and another listed the production sequence as a 68 m y car. Where is there reliable vin info? I basically just want to know what kind of diff I have by looking at the car, if someone could tell me what to look for that would be great
  17. Hey guys, My registration says 1969, however i just decoded my vin (1663297) and i now think I have a '68 but am not completely sure the main issue is because i was starting to set up the car to run FSP and I think I may need to change out the rear subframe to swap in a LSD Anyway, how can I tell for certain if I have a long or short neck diff and, if i do need to swap it, what do I need to change out and where can I find these parts? thanks in advance Matt
  18. Hey guys, newish to the forum... I was gonna take a trip up to Ireland Engineering in Duarte, and wanted to ask if anyone from the San Diego area (or anywhere along the way) wanted me to pick them up some parts (and maybe help with gas I am taking a truck because i'm gonna get some fiberglass panels.... just let me know Matt
