+1 for 7502 ......
I'm thinking the rubber tube needs some attention as it is the "moveable" transition section from the upper metal tube into the innards of the block.

THE ICON: 50 Years of the 2002 - Presented by The Werk Shop
----- from Aug 23, 2018Here's a sneak peek at the ICON exhibition, just minutes before it opened to 540+ opening day fans on May 28, 2018. This show tells the complete story of the little car that built a brand, ignited a cult and launched the largest single-marque car club in the world. Great thanks to The Werk Shop, our Presenting Sponsor, along with Griot's Garage, Yokohama, Classic BMW of Plano, Odometer Gears, Bavarian Autosport, and CocoMats.
------ THE ICON was on view through January 18, 2019, at the BMW CCA Foundation Museum & Archive in Greer, South Carolina.
Cheers,
Carl

hmmmm ......
---- your speedo needle goes round and round and round.
---- my speedo needle does not do that.
---- you wash your front rims.
---- I don't wash my front rims.
I'm seeing a 100% correlation coefficient here .......

When your most-trusted mechanic calls up and says, "That upgrade battery-in-the-trunk install you wanted ?? Got It Done !! And I added in those new fuses you said you wanted."
And then when you get the 2002 back home, you inspect the work, and you're suddenly a little nervous because one of the fuses has obviously been installed backwards, which means that particular circuit won't work, but you don't know how to troubleshoot to find that circuit.

paulyg mentioned "bleeding" the cooling system.
Here's my method so I don't have to raise the front of the car. I simply fill everything up, not installing the radiator cap. Then I start the engine, let it idle and come up to temperature, and then leave it alone to idle for awhile. This of course gets the thermostat open so you get full circulation of everything.
I like to think that after some up-to-temp idling any air in the cooling system will eventually migrate up and into the radiator and then out the open radiator fill spout.
Then after that, I install the radiator cap and go for a drive to get normal operational system flow. Back at the house, after things cool down, I remove the radiator cap and top-up if/as necessary.
