Ireland Engineering has them in stock. Very good service in my experience.

Sorry to hear about your rims. I'm sure we'll all keep an eye out for them in the cali craigslists BTW.....
Davis is no where near L.A. or L.A. County. Its in the "nicer" northern part of Cali...but I understand what you meant brothaI have heard time and time again that if you live in CA, especially LA county, that if it is nice and not nailed down it is gone. -
Welcome back to the madness

She's a beauty! Welcome to the madness.

Damn, I'm sorry to hear that bro. Was that cover really uber custom? is it possible that another 02 guy stole it? now that would be really screwed up!

there's a nearly complete 74 2002 at the pick a part in Monrovia, anthracite grey, when i left it yesterday the interior was complete and the engine bay hadn't been touched. It had a 32/36 weber. The only things I removed were the front strut bearing caps, the window handles and the beauty rings off the 13 inch steelies.

Don't worry, I'm 34 and I'm in the same boat as you. I wish I was like you ready to take this on when I was 16. Good luck! don't worry, you got this!

I don't know what this clip is from, but i'll take the car, the girl and the moustache for good measure.

if i still enjoyed the occasional cig, I might do this with my old worn out roundie lenses.

I'm not an expert, but I believe if you remove the first thing labled "what's this" you'll have more problems than you think (mechanical fuel pump)

thanks Esty, logume, and conkitchen for your input. Its embarrassing how little I know about this stuff, but then again, that's why I joined this forum.
Good times!

EDIT: didn't read the smoking clutch part, but that's pretty obvious as esty pointed out. you DO NOT have the remove transmission to see the linkage. But you could have solved that by looking under the car before coming on here. Best of luck, if you need some help and your around fullerton-ish give me a call 714 818 2706
lol, thanks Andrew. trust me, if i could squeeze my fat belly under the roundie I would've, but i gotta wait until the weekend when my bro brings a proper jack. (weather permitting of course)

a few days ago i was downshifting to get off the freeway and as I was coming down the off ramp i stepped on the clutch pedal and brake pedal and came to a stop behind a few cars with no issue. I then went to put my car in neutral as i waited for the light to change and suddenly that sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach. It felt like the shifter lever isn't attatched to anything. I move it around and I cant feel the "H" at all. luckily i guess what ever happened the car was still in 3rd and i was able to limp it home. It was about 3 miles from the offramp and i had quite a few red lights before I got home. each time i came to a stop I had to have my foot on the clutch pedal so the car wouldnt stall out since I couldnt put it in neutral. As I came around the corner my tranny started to smoke.
My questions are 1) i'm not a tranny (or anything) expert but i want to inspect the linkage under the shifter do I have to drop the tranny? and
2) do you think the smoke happened because i had to keep my foot on the clutch pedal each time I hit a red light?
I'm running a 4 speed and any help or advice/info would be appreciated (and rewarded with beer) if you're in the So. Cal area, TIA
Jess.

clutch installation tips?
in BMW 2002 and other '02
Posted
Hey guys, I'm thinking of installing a new clutch kit in my 68' 02. This will be my first clutch job. Besides the pressure plate, disc and throw out bearing is there anything else I need to buy? Also, I'm thinking of getting the IE clutch kit and I was wondering if anyone has bought this and can tell me what they thought about it. TIA
Regards, Jess.
