Thanks for the feed back, I bought the car last year it had flares on it yes... not really suited to the year I guess... but it adds a level of punk rock to the look. I havent decided what I will do with them. I like the look and at the same time I like the look without... in the photo the sill or rocker panel ? is rusted through and there is not much left... I guess thats why the car was so cheap... I have to remove the sill and see how it looks. hello all, so I have slowly been working on my '70 02 and I have a bit of a rusted out body panel and as I went to remove it its much deeper than I thought at first... my drivers side sill which runs along the bottom from wheel to wheel is badly rusted so that the jacking point is broken off... I have a new sill but it looks very daunting to replace,,, anyone have any experience with this replacement and can give me any insight or wisdom?[/img]

I am getting ready to go five speed, the donor 245 has a pretty beat looking slave cylinder, can i just use the one from my 1602? or do I need to buy a new one? and one more question how the hell to fugure out what size TO bearing 215 or 228mm, I need to have all this stuff ordered from abroad and dont want to make any mistakes... I have very little experiance so far...thanks for the help!

Sorry I am new to these cars, I am buying a 1970 1600 this weekend and the seller offers a 5 gear box from a E31 not installed so the car still runs with 4 gears, should I go the extra 400 bucks for the gearbox?

Humm, I am getting more and more excited about owning the car, what a downer, I wish I knew more about the turbo systems. there is one more 2002 for sale which boasts 500+ hp... I think the first 2002 is well restored, I do think the turbo is scetchy however... Perhaps I can get it better one installed in its place?

Hey I am new to this site and I guess hobby, I have always wanted a 2002 since I saw one in Germany a few years ago. I have the opportunity to buy a 90% restored 75 Tii with a turbo already built in, in fact from the looks of it Id say the interior is the only thing that needs restored. I was hoping to get some advice on what to look out for, I am a bit scared to buy a turbo modification as I dont know what more I will have to invest in the car... this car is selling for about 9000 USD (take into consideration we have high taxes here over 25%) Should I do it and deal with the consequences if any as I will never regret having this car or should I skip it and look for a new model audi? ;-)
