  1. Well she arrived relatively unscathed, only minor damage to the rear tow hook and a ding on the roof. Put some Marvel in the cylinders, left the plugs out and tried to turn it by hand, but alt was frozen. Removed the alt belt and the engine turned by hand quite well. Water pump leaks like a $#$@, so I will have to replace it and all the hoses before trying to start her. I was able to free up the alt, but bearings will have to be replaced as well as the rubber bushings (turned to goo). As far as the clutch, the hose to the master was shot, replaced it and, flushed/ bled the system all is well now.
  2. Tires will have to go as soon as it is road worthy. I am in for allot of work, as I believe the clutch slave is shot (pedal just goes to floor and stays). Brakes will need a thorough inspection and a bleed, hopefully they are ok (but not likely)as they were fully redone just before storage, as were all fluids. The rubber bits in the drivetrain will all be inspected, and/or replaced as well.
  3. Just had her shipped from storage in MA. She had been in a storage garage since 1989. No major rust, but there is some (rear fender, and rear wheel hump being the ones requiring real work). She is a 1973 relatively unmolested, except by mice. I have been reading some posts I found using search, and am debating between the Marvel rout, or just pulling the engine and doing a hone/re ring etc. Obviously the latter would be safer, but if the Marvel way did not work would it likely cause major damage? This being My first BMW I'm sure there will be more questions, thanks in advance. Dusty from storage. After quick bath for pre-transport inspection.
