Thank you!
Prior to asking the esteemed and knowledgable crew here, I searched the archives here, there and elsewhere. I Googl'ed it/Bing'ed it/Lycos'ed it and even asked jeeves it using several different word combos and languages. I've sorted thru years of posts. NO RELEVANT INFO FOUND on this topic. There is a plethora of helpful insight into how to shorten the shocks, yada yada... has anyone 'ripped' their bumpers down to half of the current width?
I'm prettty well sold on doing this trim job, both front & rear, just looking for any previous experience.

Looking at my taiga '74 in the garage last nite, contemplating what to do with the park bench attached to the front of my car.
It seems so obvious now, and I'm sure it's been tried before.
The bumpers are made of aluminum, a softer metal, here's my thought.
I plan on shortening the shocks to bring it in closer to the body, and am also considering slicing/cutting off the back half of the bumper itself. If it's like 6" wide (front to back) now, I'm thinking of trimming it down to 2" or so. I think a circular saw with a good blade will take care of most of the work, then finish it off with a grinder to appearance grade edge.
Any thoughts or experience is appreciated.
TIA!

Thanks once again, 'ought2'.
I do appreciate your guidance to the search feature....
BTDT.
Just thought that after hours upon hours of fruitless searching I might actually post an inquiry here to see if someone has:
A: done this
B: thought likewise
C: seen it
Anything relevant to add?
Do you know of an actual thread that covers this topic?
Please post the link, save the bandwidth, and let's get this thread back on track.
gracias!
