Was looking at this 02 picture (looks like a 74-75) and couldn't help but notice that shiny grill. Anyone know where I can get a metal grill like that for my 76?

I'm liking the sound of that s14 but the possibility of 10k just gives me the creeps. I'll look into it and keep that in mind though. Thanks.

What mods would you recommend be done to my stock M10? Really, I'm open to anything weather it be Engine swaps or mods to the current engine. But you better bet if option A is cheaper than option B, I'm going with A. Just looking to see what my options are and whats the best route to go... I'm pretty new to the whole 2002 scene and have been snooping around here for a while trying to figure everything out so those of you with 02 knowledge, now would be a great time to chime in and voice out your thoughts, opinions, and ideas on this topic.

I couldn't find any info about it using search... Anyway, I'm really looking into packing more ponies under the hood of my 76 2002 so I want to know if I can swap out the stock M10 for a Tii or Turbo engine. Will either engine bolt right on without fab work? Also, what does the average cost of an M20 conversion come down to after after fabrication/installation. I read about the S14 costing an arm and a leg...Just wondering if an M20 is any different. Thanks ALL!

One last question...I know I mentioned in a previous post that I wasn't considering an engine swap...But just out of curiosity, is it possible to swap out my standard M10 for something like a Tii or 2002 turbo? Speaking of turbo, are there any aftermarket turbo kits for the M10?

I read about people stroking their 02s?.......Does that mean dropping in an aftermarket stroker crank and increasing the overall displacement?

Ya, we're working with a bone stock M10 engine here. To restate the question, what mods would you all recommend in order to produce maximum power out of an M10? Some background info: Used as an every day commuter. Looking for that extra shot of torque going through freeway on ramps and decent passing power. (No engine swaps please. It's just out of my budget at this time)

Thanks for all the responses guys. That answered my question regarding power. So now I wanna keep the stock engine and get max power out of it, what do I need to do? Someone give me a list of mods that should be done.

So how do you like the power? Or is it still a bit under powered? I'm using this car as an everyday commuter mostly on the freeways and it would be nice to have that extra boost going into the on ramps and for easy passing.

So how much power do you think I get get on a finely tuned stock based engine with say an aftermarket carb, air intake, exhaust, cam, and a clean cylinder head port job?

I'm positive this question has been answered a ton of times but cant seem to find any of them using search. Here goes: will the older style grills mount on to say a newer 75, 76? If not, does anyone know of any good looking aftermarket grills? All help appreciated.

Glad to hear that theres hope. Unfortunately, my car doesn't run like crap.........It doesn't run at all. Just last weekend, I filled it up with all new fluids, cleaned out the carb, a new battery, fueled it up and I go to start it, and to my surprise, the air con and radio go off at me full blast but no sign of life in the engine.

So I've been hassled after failing to get my 02 running and trying to sell it. And have met up with a few people wanting to buy the car but still not sold. This car is worth a lot more to me than just 5-$800 which is what I've been offered so I'm thinking of going plan B and just keeping it and building it up. So my question is what engines will go into my 02? I'm not looking into rebuilding my stock engine since its all brittle and ready to crumble into pieces with a touch so that's out of the question. I'm interested in a more reliable and powerful aftermarket/donor engine off another BMW or something. Excuse my terms since I'm new to the whole 2002 scene but like I was saying, I want to start off with a new engine and just get it up and running. I've seen a lot of videos on the Tube of 2002s and their beefy sounding engines. So what are the options? Advice? What's the most practical way to go? Anything helps. Thanks! Yes, it is. I'm reposting with a higher price because my son disagreed with the previous asking amount. After talking with him, we both figured that $1000 flat is a fair enough price. If you don't like the price, don't buy it. We're not in it just to make a quick buck. We don't have to sell, we can always keep and rebuild when we have the extra money. Selling is just an option.
