Welcome to the forum. Agreed that a gallery would be helpful to see everyone's "ride" in one place. Hang out here long enough and you will probably see many of them as time goes on. A lot are in their signatures or avatars.
Thank you for your nice comments about my touring at the Cars and Coffee.
Looking forward to your participation on the board.
Thanx Steve - and I look forward to taking part. Seems like you're a bunch of hardcore 02-entusiasts in here :-D and I already like the atmosphere...
Anyway, do with the Galleri-proposal what you guys feel best. I of course also understand that even if everybody agrees in wanting it, it's still a matter of doing it. Two very different things!! But on other forums that I am active on, it always seems that the Galleri section is one of the most popular. Steve, this would of course also enable me to drool over even more excellent pics of your beautiful Inka Touring - those Ronal alloys just finish it off perfectly for me.
Well, maybe a thing for the future then.... ;-)
Well the pics are there if you know where to look, but I agree, a more permanent gallery would be nice.Of course, I don't have the smarts to set it up

And Tony, I'll make sure to get a couple of shots of mine onto that tread as well - thanx mate.... :-D

So basically you pay 45k for an "original" Alpina coach, and a genuine Alpina oil cooler flange and dashboard plaque. The real catch being it is a touring.
That's about it.... Maybe just a bit on the expensive side, me thinks.... ;-)

Hi Guys,
First of all, I'm new to the forum. So if this question has already been asked a thousand times and debated likewise, then I'm sorry....
But is there really no "Galleri" to this forum??
I just love seeing what other 02 entusiasts get out of their 02s!! Personally, I belong to the 'Originale Polizei', but 02 ownership can be so diverse, and whether it's a totally stock 1600-2 with 6V system and all, or a highly modified M2, I think it's sooo inspiring to see what another entusiast has created....
I would suggest a galleri where each of us can post a handfull of pics along with a short story of 'how, what and why' including perhaps vin # and/or other production data such as colorcode, date of production or whatever....
What say you??? If this idea stinks and has already been debated and decided against on this forum, then I will just apologize and crawl back into my hole... ;-)

Looks real clean - great result mate!!
I've got a veronarot roundie as well - you just gotta love 'em...

Hold Your Horses Guys....!!!
I know this car. So is it an original Alpina?? Well, yes and no.
As I'm sure you all know, very few 02 Alpinas left the Buchloe factory as new cars. So any 02 rebiult at Buchloe (be that a second-hand 02) is considered an original Alpina. This particular Touring was indeed rebuilt at Alpina to full Alpina spec in 1976. I obviously do not know how much the seller has to certify this, but the car is very well known in Norway and for that matter the rest of Scandinavia (I am from Denmark). Up until very recently the car actually looked like this:
But the car unfortunately lived a very rough life, with many owners and some that clearly did not value this awesome Alpina. Somewhere along the line the car lost most of its Alpina parts incl. the engine. The Touring - still looking like an Alpina and by vin # still being one, but without all the rare Alpina mechanicals to back it up - went up for sale in Norway several years ago. The seller was asking big money, but as everybody knew the rough history of the car, it didn't sell. Then it was off the market for some years and now it has reemerged as this strange Alpina / BMW Motorsport clone.
So, is it the real article?? Hmmm.... I don't know.... sort of I guess. You tell me!!
Personally I think it looks awesome with it's new clothes. But then again, it looked every bit as cool in its Alpina clothes and that was much more authentic. Either way, I'd love to add the Touring to my garage, but I certainly would NOT pay that kind of money for it!!
Over to you....

Hi Anders,
I'm about 45 minutes drive from Cannes - small World. Here's where I'm at:
and here's a link to the French 02 club.
and here's a pic from today in Antibes just down the road from you - the population of the coast went past me on the way to our ski resort, so I made for lunch in the sun:
Pop up sometime.
Excellent Nick!! We should definately meet up. Thanx for the links - only problem is I haven't learnt French yet as I've only lived here for 2 months now. Beautiful pic from Antibes btw...
My 2002 is unfortunately still back in Denmark - damn, I miss my little baby. I'll be bring her down late spring / early summer. Until then I've just got my E36.
Just for laughs, here's a pic of my '73 veronarot BMW 2002:
If you were at Bavaria Tour in Oberammergau in either 2002 or 2006 you might have seen me there...
Nick you have PM....

Great pics!! And even more so - Great cars!!
I positively love the early bristolgrau 02!! Beautiful and original looks...
The Ronal alloys on the inka Touring are a personal favourite as well.
I think we might actually be able to match the weather where I am, but you guys are clearly WAY ahead when it comes to the quality of metal that turns up for such an event....

Great Picture Nick!! Catches the atmosphere...
Where in France are you?? (if you don't mind me asking...)
I come from Denmark, but I have just moved to Cannes in France. Obviously I'm going to miss the 02scene in Denmark where I up to moving south was the Chairman of the Danish '02section'. But I'll try to make up for it by getting invovled in France. However don't know where to start... Would love to meet up with you some day and see your early 02 in the flesh!!

Hey Nick,
It just dawned on me... You wouldn't happen to be the Provence-based Brit who owns that green S14 engined Touring would you?? You did the Gumball in the Touring a few years back didn't you??
