I bought a new set of T4's back in September. I've been peeling out in them all over town. yeeha! I guess I better tone it down so I can make them last. They are great tires...why do good things always have to come to an end. i guess i'll eventually have to accept "change" and move up to a 14 inch or 15 inche wheel.

I'd be interested in saddle/tobacco brown for my '73 sahara. How about also reproducing the tobacco w/black door panels.

Mike,
Do you have some pics of baby Ludwig you can send to me? I'm getting close to repainting my '02 and I yearn to see what she may look like with a fresh coat of Sahara paint.
Sahara is the best color EVER. Classic and elegant...
Thanks!

fogs were in great shape and are going to look terrific when installed. My car is still in the shop (getting a new engine, 5 spd conversion, irelaned exhaust, etc) so I haven't been able to put them on. Hoping to get it back tomorrow.

Finkle is Einhorn....
Einhorn is Finkle....
M. Hannigan is A. Canuck....
A. Canuck is M. Hannigan....
It's a shame that both of these guys started off as A+ businessmen but now for some reason both have become completely unreliable. In the last year, I've had bad experiences with both! Which leads me to wonder is Hannigan Canuck? Is Canuck Hannigan? I've never met either one in person and they seem to handle their business in a similar manner.

Jason, I'll be there in my 330i. unfortunately, the '02 is still stuck in the shop.

Terry Sayther here in Austin uses someone local to shorten drive shafts. They just did mine last week. May want to give Terry a call. Always a good source of info.

Ahh Ruta Maya - good choice. I will be there.

Count me in for a morning meet on Aug 2nd. I propose meeting somewhere in south or central austin since that's where i'm located
joe's coffee shop on soco is a popular spot. may be hard to find parking for all of us though. parking is the obstacle. hmm coffee shops..I'll keep thinking.

Count me in for a meet sometime in late July or August.

Well the "green friendly" detergent my wife bought is odorless so it's not helping cure my gas smell! I probably should run down and get some toxic detergent that smells like chlorine.
More than likely I'll go with Dubois advice and just play dumb. I'm good at that...
but I must say.. our Bosch dishwasher is one hell of a degreaser. If I can cure this gas smell and get away with this endeavor there will be a lot more parts getting cleaned the next time the wife is away.
but i don't want to get ahead of myself. back to the clean up.

I took the advice of many on this board and put my intake manifold in the dishwasher while the wife is away for the day running errands
The good part is that the manifold came out of the dishwasher looking prestine! The bad is that I can't get the damn gas smell out of the dishwasher. I just ran an empty cycle with detergent and it still smells!
The wife will be home in about 6 hrs! What to do!!!
I guess I'll keep cycling the washer until the smell goes away. I fear what mama will do to me if she finds out...

I've owned the car a little over a year. I drove it all over Austin up until about 6 months ago when I started the restoration. Now it's off to Terry Sayther for the engine install, 5 spd conversion, Ireland exhaust, etc.
Jadegrun is a nice color.

I know you all love pics so here are some before and after pics of my engine bay restoration. I need to dress up the engine bay a little bit more with new strut caps, washer and brake fluid bottle, fuse box cover, etc but she is finally ready for her engine!

The closest I've been able to match saddle brown was also from a '70 mercedes. This material I speak of is produced by Gahh. See attached link, it's the 716 Mahogany Plain pattern...not an exact match but close.
Al Larson recovered my seats using this material and I was pleased.

It doesn't get much better than Alpina's. Why must the grass look greener to you on the other side.

I live across from Magnolia on South Congress but my car is Sahara. I've been looking for you all out on the road but haven't seen ya. I'm up and down mopac everyday (from downtown to the Arboretum). We need to get together before I send my car off to the body shop for paint.
