Thanks, Esty!

There is a early 80's 320i at the local bone yard and was wondering if the steering wheel can fit my 76 02. My 02 has a weathered Momo and want to replace it with something cheap. The 320's wheel is in very good shape. Thanks!!

Hmm. I think I read somewhere that it had a stroked, 3.1 liter M20?! Guess I was wrong.

2002s are so much fun! Ive never driven a Tii. They have about 20 more horsepower than a carbed 02. I dont think thier arms are boxed, though. They do have larger front and rear brakes. If I were you I would look for a cheap, carbed 02 to begin with. Maintenence is simple and parts are relatively inexpensive. Tii fuel injection components are really expensive and not widely available. You can even convert a carbed 02 to fuel injection and it would cost less then a Tii. Good luck!

Damn. That last pic looks freaky! Is that guy in the background wearing a Star Trek outfit?

Glad you got the clips. Unfortunately, my engine bay is in ruins right now as I work on my F.I. conversion. But this is what Im shooting for when im done. So organized and clean!

This is what I used to tidy up my engine. Get some wire loom, electrical tape and zip ties from an autopart store. Use that to wrap up the wiring. While you're there, grab some high temp. paint in flat black and aluminum. These two colors will come in very handy! Grab a bottle of Simple Green and a nylon scrub brush. Get rid of that yellow air cleaner ASAP! Sand and paint the brake booster. You can also remove the carb and intake manifold if you wish. Give it a cleaning and a fresh coat of paint. That makes a big difference in appearence! I also removed my exhaust manifold and downpipe and painted it with a silver high heat ceramic paint. Now it looks new! Good luck!
P.S. Did you ever get those sun visor clips I sent?

SO FREAKIN LUCKY!!!

Heres a link to a guy who turbo'ed his E30 318i. Same engine as an E21 except the fuel injection system is different. Its got some good information. Good luck!

I have Bilstein sports and Ireland stage 1 springs on my 76. Ride is very stiff. If the road is nice and smooth its a wonderful ride. Driving through downtown L.A's crappy streets makes my ass hurt after a while. I have a racing seat with very little cushioning. But I like the combination very much.

I beleive this diagram shows the hazard wiring on the bottom right! Im not sure, though. Good luck!!

When I removed the rear seats in my 76 last year I found some change, including some Canadian coins. Makes me wonder where my 02 has been through out its life.

The reason for looking is. I found on a twisty road that the back end is a little loose and hope one of these will give the back a little more downforce. Don't drive much on the freeway but go fast through town.
Im not sure how much, if any downforce this spoiler gives. I think it was mainly for looks or it only worked at the Turbos higher speeds. Theres a photo of an old Alpina 02 with a 3.0 CSL Batmobile rear wing. It looks hot and period correct. It might give you some downforce, too.

david,
hows that car comming?
(im thinking evil empire some time in nov)
Thanks for all the responses, everyone! The car was running great, until I began my fuel injection conversion. Then I realized I needed a new exhaust system and lots of other parts! Its taking me longer than expected for the conversion. Money is tight so hopefully I can get her done before the next evil get together! BTW, nice LEDs!

I would get one just to be on the safe side. Although Manhatten Beach is one of the safer cities. Earlier this year I had to chase away some dumbass kids that were throwing rocks at my 02. They put a few dings in the bodywork and chipped my windsheild. Bastards! Last year some crackhead broke into almost every car in the neighborhood, mine included. And into my sisters car twice! Then a couple of weeks ago, we checked that Megan's Law website and found over 50 sex offenders living in our surrounding area! One of them is my sister's ex-boyfriend's father! I think it's time to move.

Haltech uses a sensor that has a temperature/resistance curve the same as GM. If the you get a Bosch, you will need the Bosch parameters to compare with what is in the Haltech manual. The Haltech curves are fixed, so the sensor has to match.
If you have access to a salvage yard, just get one from any GM car with the connector and about 6 inches of wire. If you don't get the connector, I will send you one for the postage cost. Then tap out the boss on the water neck to a 3/8 npt thread.
Im trying to use all GM sensors. Ive got a GM air temp sensor, MAP sensor and Im trying to adapt a GM TPS to my throttle body. Guess Ill be going to the junk yard again. Thanks for the info!

I'm gathering all the parts I need to begin my F.I. conversion. Is this the correct engine temp sensor I need for my ECU? Computer will be a Haltech, which is basicly the same as Megasquirt. Thanks!

Original BMW fuel lines are probably the best. They are self sealing! And not to expensive.

Heres a list from the FAQ section. Hope it helps.
