An empty baggie and roach clip.
Not mine, no affiliation
;O)

If you need it
Even though it was made from 4sp, I Wouldn't think there would be a big difference. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

I found a roach clip and an empty :0( baggie behind the dash. The car was originally from Cali so I suspect it was for "medicinal" purposes.

If it has to be done there is no better car to drive in the snow than the o2. My 73 was dd for 6 years and I never got stuck or spun out (unintentionally). Especially fun if you are into drifting. Of course it paid it's due to the tin worm.
-
I play drums for a living and used my 73 dd to haul gear (73 now gone, will use 76 when the snow clears). I play a small kit so they fit nicely in an o2.
When not playing drums I work 2-3 days a week doing computer repair/graphic design.

My 69 has a red pull type switch on the left side of the instrument cluster, on the little shelf. the one that pop in and out, (they wear out and stay stuck in the on position) located on the center console came in two types. Early (up to 73) and late for 74 on. They look the same but a look at the terminal side reveals a difference. There is a resistor on the later cars, in the center but not on the early ones.
thanks for the details

For a 76.
There's a difference in years? My 73 switch works in my 76 so i figured they are all the same.

Nice touring! I wanted to buy one of those, but Mary wanted the much-cheaper Taurus wagon. Oh well.
You should have brought down the hammer Jim!
... YEA! Tourings are Pfaht!watch out for pot holes with thos Sporty rims!!!
And curbs (for the wife)! I was looking a 3's also. Figured with the drum kit
it would fit more comfortable in the 5. Although through the years it fit
perfectly in the o2 (i play a small kit).

I have the exact same car in silver with a manual transmission, it is a fantastic car. Keep an eye out for the cooling system, mine had everything but the radiator replaced before I bought it and the rad starting leaking 2 weeks later.
I drove a 540 Sedan 6 speed manual a couple weeks ago. Man that thing flies! I looked at a silver one on ebay. He wanted like 12k for it. A bit out of range for me.
I may hit you up off board with some questions sometime if you don't mind.

Thought I'd give a newer bimmer a try. After driving
the 73 daily for the last 7 years it will be nice to have some
heat this winter. These new-fangled BMW's ride nice!
Specs:
2001 525iT
Winter package
Sport package
Premium package
Leather heated seats
More bells and whistles than I know what to do with
Pretty nice ride but when it comes to spirited driving it doesn't compare to the o2.

Hell, I don't even have a stereo. Guess I need one of those first.
-
I expect you to give me a prototype. ;O)

..but I just noticed the aftermarket speaker kit in the back window
I'm not convinced they are the same ones. Look at the slope on the ends, look more rounded on the o2. Regardless, they are sweet.
they look a little tacky imo.Tacky or not I want it.
I love those speaker mounts... i hope to make them and sell them on the FAQ someday.... but i have WAAAY too many projects ahead of that.Tacky or not I'd buy it.
There was someone selling one on ebay in the last month or two. I wanted it but couldn't justify it at the time.

I used a picture I found on the internets of the BMW alignment tool for reference. I have a 4 speed. So for a 5 speed/shortned shaft it would have to be modified.
-
I've had a few requests to post specs for this tool. The driveshaft on my 73 seems well and straight using this. The measurements were taken by me and my welder buddy under the car.
Disclaimer: If it doesn't work for you, not my fault.
