Replacing springs and removing spacers

Recommended Posts

Took apart front of car to replace bushings, just put in a new strut and was going to put it back together with the old springs. I have included pictures of the springs, but is it recommended to replace them and lower the car a bit? Is it also recommended to remove the aluminum spacers as I read that the European cars did not have them? I also plan to use some hose as spring pads as mine are destroyed.

It wouldn't be a bad idea to replace those springs.  While probably not original, I see rust.  Get lowering springs if you want to lower the car.

Remove the spacers - that, too, will lower the front of the car.

Spring pads are <$20 each new - get a pair. Spring Pad - BMW (31-33-2-450-120)
