  1. Thanks again for the help with this. Got the floats changed over new needle and pressure regulator seems to be doing the trick
  2. The pump was previously installed by the owner before me. Forgot off the top of my head, but seems to be a 2-4 psi as even with the regulator it seems to constantly sit around 3psi. was pretty proud of my noobie self for changing out the floats. And getting this thing going again. next up, get a timing light and adjust timing, plugs, and then end with a carburetor adjustment to get her running good for the spring.
  3. thanks for the help. It was the floats. 24 grams. New floats and needle + finally got around to installing the pressure regulator and seems to be running nice again.
  4. Hello 1 have been having a issue with my stock 2002 motor with a Weber 32/36. The carb is less than 2 years old, and the car is relatively new to me. The fuel pump and carb were placed on via the previous owner. issue: when I turn the key to the first click (on/run) the electric fuel pump starts and starts to flood the carbs. Gas starts to pour out and into the butterflies. Like a small fountain not a drip (Attached pic circled area) I thought maybe I could pull the carb and check the floats. I have the plastic floats and set them according to pierce manifolds. 35mm on side and 51mm on flat. After setting the floats, I put it back on the car and still have the problem. i have ordered a nice fuel pressure regular ( glass bowl can’t remember name but the one everyone on here recommends) as I have read on the forums that webers don’t like higher fuel pressure. i am pretty new to all of this and have been doing a lot of read on the forums and the shop manual and the Haynes but haven’t been able to figure this out. Any advice would be welcomed. Regulator is a good place to start but assuming I’m also having a carb issue.
  5. i'm in the exact same boat. 14 vs 15, but round hole steelies.
  6. Would love to see more pictures of them on your car. Did you find a way to take the branding off? Sorry dont want to hijack the thread.
  7. really great tips mike. I'll add pictures and stuff along the way for sure. Please send any reading on the LEDs or the Heater. I have been going over stuff in the FAQ but always helpful to have the links. Still finishing up the prep, and will be getting everything started, hopefully over the December holidays, or early January.
  8. will send the pm tonight. Have e21 leather seats and carpet both from etsy actually. thanks for all the other considerations and time it took to write up. Really appreciate it and helps me plan stuff out. Snow is coming…..
  9. exactly what I was thinking of using, but maybe alpine vs rf speakers. Was also looking into the ones made by the forum member that look like the ones used in clarion build. Still considering.
  10. The heater rebuild!!!! Oh my, how could I forget that. It kinda stresses me out, but need to do more reading on that and the removal of the AC wiring and what not. thanks for the suggestions. Really helpful so far, as always.
  11. Hope everyone is having a great start to the winter, and wanted to get some help with my winter project. I want to redo some of the interior, as my carpet and seats are in pretty bad shape. I have started to sourcing parts, but just wanted to see if I was forgetting anything that I need to do while the carpet is out, or if anyone had recommendations on things I "should" do while working on the inside of the car this winter. 1. Replace Carpet (already sourced) - install based on FAQ 2. Recaro seats (already sourced) 2. Dynomat / remove tar / dry ice in FAQ 3. Run wire for rear battery install (a kit the easiest still?) 4. Remove origianl non functioning Behr AC 5. New console replace with 3 gauge cluster console (oil pressure, volt, temp need to source gauges and Koogle console) 5. Run speaker wire for small amp, and 4 channel speakers Other things I was thinking about, but havent decided on doing now or later? Shifter rebuild backseat recover replace some under dash trim Would love do hear your suggestions.
  12. Looking for a 6pin wiper relay, 2 stage. The black plastic one under the dash, not the tuna can one. thanks in advance.
  13. Looking for a AL41X for a 2002 upgrade. Shipped to NY. Thanks in advance.
  14. Looking for a non-rusty battery tray. The one the battery sits on and bolts to the front and side. Not the hold down.
  15. Thank you for all the reply’s. It’s true, I said fog but will use them more as driving lights. I would like to use them with low beams but also switched with the original factory style 3 prong green switch already have. So that I can turn them off and on. Anyone point me to a good wiring diagram for that, as most I have seen are to run as driving lights, but without a switch. Or should I just follow john76 diagram? Just a better visual person if anyone has one. Thanks again for the info. I’m still learning.
  16. For sure. I have already purchased the working button. Just getting all the parts together first. Mine was also a dummy.
  17. Ok that might be my issue. I did see your drawing, and downloaded it and tried to copy it, but then my relay was different, so that is maybe my issue. I have not actually started yet, was looking for advice just before doing it. It will not light up, it is the green button from the original fog lights. And for the #9 wire, you took it from inside the car I am assuming?
  18. Hi, Im getting ready to add my fog lamps to my 73, and want have them on a green switch in the console, that only will come on and off with low beams. I have been doing a good amount of reading, and searching on the site, and have found some amazing articles. Basicly, im hoping I could get conformation on the below diagram, as I start my journey. I want to eventually also update the high/low relays, but need to do a little more research on the FAQ article before, as I done have a high relay as it is. Also trying to keep a close to stock color on my wires, (haven't been able to find striped ones at a cheap enough cost). I was going to use either green or purple for the lights. Would love anyones input just to double check my reading / wiring diagram. The image was a combination of a few peoples drawings on the site, so all the credit goes to: AustrianVespaGuy, SteveJ, and the others who know what they are talking about more than I.
  19. Looking for an e21 switch, to run as a fog switch. Thanks in advance.
  20. Looking for a key lock cylinder for a door. Thanks in advance.
  21. Just saying hello, and introducing myself. New owner of a 73, and have been just reading the forums and getting to know the car. Excited to start working on it, and meeting some of you at a meet up in the future. Take care. Matthew
