  1. E21kc — did you move the seat rails back? My head clears just fine, even in a sunroof car (I’ve tried several). But I can’t fit my leg between the wheel and the center console. (Same thing in my wife’s old Volvo 240. At least that’s an automatic, so there’s less movement under there.) The last 320 that I tried to drive had a dogleg, and that was never going to work. Fun to drive though.
  2. E21kc — I was thinking the same thing! But I’m 6’7” tall, and I can’t squeeze into a 320i. No joke. I’ve tried a couple times, trying to figure out a way to make it fit. But I just don’t. I **do** fit in e28s, so those are in the running. With the 6 cylinder, too…
  3. Well, now I’ve had two very nice 2002 owners offer to sell me their cars, then rescind the offer once they drove their cars and remembered why they bought it in the first place. So … I’m **still** on the hunt for a driver-quality 2002. Cash in hand and ready to buy. More than ready, you might say… I feel like an adoptive parent who can’t find a baby. The nursery’s ready!
  4. If the seller is on this forum, please send me a message.
  5. Big thanks to everyone who has responded here or reached out privately. It’s been a crash-course, and the 2002 community is great! Still looking for a driver-quality 2002 for around $12-15k. I’ve found lots of cars around the $20k price point, but alas, I only have so much money. Paul’s car looks great, but it would cost $2k to ship, which blows the budget. I may end up in an e21 instead, and can “upgrade” to a 2002 later. I’m holding out hope that I’ll find just the right car, but my wife is getting tired of driving me to work!
  6. Hey thanks for reaching out. I’m interested! If it’s easier to email pictures, I can be reached at kelan.lowney@gmail.com.

  8. Hello 2002ers! I’m looking for a running (or nearly so) pre-1976 2002 for around $12,000. Cash in hand and ready to buy! I’ve loved these cars for years, and am finally ready to start my new life of obsessively tracking tiny parts from across the globe as I restore one myself. Some rust is Ok, as I plan a rolling restoration until I can afford full bodywork and paint. It’s got to be in nice (enough) condition that I can feel safe (enough) driving my daughter to school in the meantime. I’m in California and I’d rather not worry about smog, so no 1976 cars. Willing to travel to western US to pick up and drive home, or will pay to transport (so long as it comes in under budget). Thank you for any leads! I’m excited to finally join the group.
