  1. Well, blocked booster line with no change to idle. I removed rear carb to check o-rings for cracks or misalignments. When I reinstalled the idle got better. Maybe I tightened carb too tight ? Car will idle rough around 1000rpm but revs strong after that. Front carbs pull about 7kg on the syncro , rear carbs about 4kg so they are getting closer !  Should I mess with the air bypass screws get the numbers matching or just use the idle mix screws ?

  2. Starter works, new Bosch sr71x ! Now, engine fired up instantly but rough idle. Air mix screws change idle on front carb; back carb does nothing. I suspect vacuum leak but can't find one. Brake booster line perhaps ? Front carb pulls 8kg on synchrometer, back carb pulls 3kg. Booster goes into #3

  3. Block to chassis ground cleaned and shiny. Wire gauge is same for pos and neg. Car is a 72 and don't believe it was auto. Seat belt clips to a metal ring behind E-brake lever. I don't see any wires to indicate a seat belt kill switch...  New coil and dist was installed with the carbs but that shouldn't interfere with starter turning...

  4. Well, the carbs are on. There's the good news. The bad is that the starter won't turn. Metered everything and 12v everywhere it needs to be. Tried jumping contacts on solenoid even, nothing. Got a new starter. Nothing. Got another one ( exchanged ). Nothing.  Tried jump starting from a running car. Nothing. A  Bosch sr71x ( small ) arrived today and installed . Nothing. So, four starters down. Maybe it's not the starter ! When you guys get done chuckling, can you tell me what I need to do ? Thanks !

  5. YES !! Everything is reassembled ! What fun ! Now, since I have the Webers, I switched to a Ti dizz and red coil. Where do all the wires go ? I've looked at diagrams and read articles... just looking for a simple answer. On the new dizz where does the red wire go and where does the black wire go ? Do I get rid of the resistor and keep the relay ?
