  1. Hi all, I can't seem to find this question been asked before so maybe I should be reconsidering asking it... Does anyone know if we can trim a reproduction 02 sill to patch a NKs sill? My jacking pads have rusted through and I'm thinking I'll find bigger issues once I get inside. So save recreating a sill panel I was wondering if trimming a MVP 02 panel would work. Any advice would be great. Thanks in advance.
  2. I did see somewhere that the the early 2002s used shortened NK floor pans. Apparently this was part of BMW's philosophy of reusing parts to keep cost down. Not sure if it will help much but there you go. You might be able to cut out what you need if its not an entire replacement that you are after.
  3. Ah thanks Nick for the insight, it's good to know. I think I will be sticking with the reproduction mount.
  4. Great point! I guess it goes back to my original question about if it is possible to swap them out with a newer style without major rework. Going through 3 mounts.. ouch... for some reason this particular mount is not cheep! Maybe that's another reason why they changed; too expensive to make and too hard to replace (compared to newer styles)...
  5. Thanks a heap all, yes that is the one! I just saw that they had sourced some reproduction ones! So stoked!
  6. Hi all, I am revitalising this old thread instead of starting a new one as it is on the same topic. I have an 67 TiLxu and the LH engine mount (early style) is sagging ?. As it replacements are next to impossible to find (yes they pop up from time to time), I am wondering if it is possible to use a late model mount instead? Does anyone know what changed between the two types? What mods are required to make it work etc? I know this isn't preferable but if my mount completely dies I would like to know what my options are. Thanks a heap,
  7. Thank you for the help so far. I also found out through my digging that this output cylinder is specific to RHD cars for some reason. Not sure as to why they might have done it differently when the LH drive model version clearly works. Anyway, as the attached images show the boot is quite large. I am not sure how large but as the internal piston is 3/4 of an inch or roughly 19mm, the width (outside the bellows) of this boot must be close to 1 1/2 inches or at least 30mm. I incorrectly bought the rebuild kit sugested in this chat and in many online stores as none seem to state that it only applies to LHD models. In short the hunt continues. I found a complete output cylinder NOS on ebay (the one pictured) but as I am only missing the boot, I couldn't justify the $450+ AUD. Thanks again and any suggestions are always welcome.
  8. So, it turns out it is not the kit I need. The boot is much too small to fit over the actuating mechanism. I guess the search continues....
  9. Thanks a heap Gurmail, that looks awfully allot like the kit I need?. I will order it and see how I go. Thanks again! Dave
  10. I forgot to mention, the slave cylinder I have is #14 on the diagram above so I am looking for the boot, item #17. Cheers.
  11. Hi all, I am hoping someone out there might be able to help me out. My 67 2000 TiLux has a Clutch Slave cylinder that I have only seen in diagrams and one photo. Unfortunately, the cylinder is missing its dust boot and I can't seem to find any that state they are for it. Is anyone able to point me in the right direction or have any information of where I could find one. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Dave
  12. Hi all, I was wondering if anyone knew the dimensions of the airbox for a 2000ti. Unfortunately, mine was scrapped by the previous owner when they swapped the Solex for Dellortos by put cage filters on instead, no trumpet, nothing... Because a NK airbox is next to impossible to find, I am looking to make a custom setup as close to the original as possible, using original filters etc. If anyone could take some quick measurements, that would be greatly appreciated! Alternatively, if you know of someone selling one and willing to ship to Australia, I would also be interested. Thanks a heap.
  13. Hi all, Just putting my feelers out to see if anyone out there has a centre console for sale for a 1966 NK. It is for a 1966 2000 TiLux. The pictures I have attached are what I believe is require. If anyone can help me out, it would be greatly appreciated.
  14. Thanks Nick. Sure is Australia, good eye. I was hoping someone might be able help me out. Unfortunately, I am missing the centre console for the car. The images I have attached are what I believe it should be. If anyone has or knows of some one who has one and is looking to sell I'd be very keen to hear.
  15. G'day all, I have been working on this project for about the last 5 years. Originally my old man got the car from a bloke who had done half a "restoration" however, it never got past dismantling and a dodgy home spray job. The car was no where near running when my dad took ownership however it was in need of rust removal and a respray so he did that bit first. It should be noted that my old man is not a perfectionist and is more of a "just get it running" or "she'll be right" kind of guy. Anyway, after about 10 years of no progress apart from what turned out to be another dodgy paint job, I decided that I took ownership of getting it running for Dad. After I got the engine idling, Dad decided he was going to try to resurrect his 1974 3.0SI instead and that I could have the 2000TiLux. What a score. Along the way I have ran into countless issues and oddities. Every time I thought I was getting close, something else would pop up. I AM getting close now. I have taken the old girl for a few hot laps down the lane so Rego wont be far. Once registered, it will be the first time since 1992. I will add a few photos of my journey so far. Although, I don't think it will be over soon. Once I have driven it around for a bit and enjoyed my success, I would like to strip her down and give her the restoration she deserves.
