  1. Does anyone know if the seals for the Tourings rear windows from Wallothonesch fit properly? I know some of the E9 window seals aren't correct so I wanted to check .
  2. So simple hydrogen peroxide didn't reall work as well as I'd hoped so after looking at some videos, I used a suggested mixture of Dawn, hydrogen peroxide to get the stain wet and scrubbed a bit to get the stain fully saturated. Then I powdered the top of the stain with baking soda and pushed it around with my fingertips until it was a paste and ground into the stain. I let that sit for 15 mins, cleaned it up and did it once more and the stain is completely removed! The fibers did get a bit ruffled from all the scrubbing over the years but the stain is gone and it's not nearly as noticeable.
  3. Cool, I'll let you know what I find
  4. Hi folks- I've got this stain in the rear of my otherwise super clean Touring and though I believe the carpet material to be partially wool, I wanted to see if someone out there knew for sure. I've tried a few less aggressive approaches to removing the stain with little to no luck. I believe it's been there for a long time. I thought it may be a rust stain but that proved incorrect. Before I attack it more aggressively I wanted to confirm the material.
  5. Did a quick clean on the engine compartment. Needs a detailing but actually came out better than I thought.. Also, there was this interesting material under the battery. It was quite fragile. What ever it is, it keep the battery pan perfect. Anyone have a clue what it could be?
  6. No, as in I found someone who had one rolling around in his parts stash..
  7. DM'd - I could use a couple of those horn button anchors
  8. Great. That schematic is in the Touring booklet that came with the car so I'll take a look at it. Good call.
  9. @Conserv Thanks Steve. I do have the dummy green switch above the radio. I'll look closer when I pull the radio out. How were the rear fogs lights activated? Was there a factory location for those or were they personal preference? The car came from Switzerland so not sure what the law might have required.
  10. So a question for the Euro Tii /Touring experts. On my lower dash under the wheel, there is a Hella 61/11 push pull switch which looks to be part of the original fog light harness in the engine compartment. You can just make out the 61/11 on the back of the switch. I've included a couple pics of the area under the panel. I was a bit taken aback by how clean it is. Do any of you w euro cars/ tourings have a similar push pull switch in that location? The dash switches are headlights and rear screen heater to the left and lighter and wiper speed below on the right so I'm thinking this logically has to be the factory placement?
  11. The 3 wheels are getting here tomorrow so thought I'd bring this to the top. Still looking for a single or pair.
  12. Thanks, I'll take a look. I think I might have a loose one from an e9 laying around.
  13. Long shot I realize but I'm looking for the rear latch switch that grounds the rear courtesy light in a Touring. Its number 12 in the schematic below. Here is the RealOEM URL- https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/showparts?id=2431-EUR-08-1973-114-BMW-2002tii&diagId=61_1126 I've included a pic of my latch so you can see where it goes.
  14. Nice to see one in the flesh. I was wondering about that small recess in the top of the latch. Definitely a long shot on finding one but it's not the end of the world if it takes a while. Good idea- I'll create a WTB ad. Can't hurt. Thanks for the help and suggestions.
  15. That's it! Thanks Mike. Here it is on RealOEM. https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/showparts?id=2431-EUR-08-1973-114-BMW-2002tii&diagId=61_1126
  16. Hi folks - my new Touring is in amazing condition but one of the things that has me scratching my head is the rear latch. The Rear light switch within the latch is missing. Is this a part seperate from the overall latch or is it part and parcel of the entire latch piece? I can't seem to find the latch schematic anywhere so not sure. Any help would be appreciated!
  17. Thanks Rick! I would have thought BMW would repop something this simple and charge 20 bucks for them
  18. So the horn button on my Tii wheel has 3 ridged plastic pieces that fit into the three recesses on the back of the horn button. They are milky white plastic and look to screw into the chrome horn button base. One of them is missing and I can't find mention of these pieces in the forum or on Realoem. Anyone have any idea where I can get another? Also, the two remaining hold the horn button "ok". Is the idea that you just push the button on firmly and it's just a friction interface?
  19. Wow that is strange. Maybe it was a Swiss trend ? @JohnP_02 - Don't worry, I'll take it off after things are cleaned up! I tool a peek and the leather underneath looks really good. I just have to figure out the white plastic horn button anchors. One of them is missing.
  20. Yea, no biggie either way. I'm a 02 newbie so all info is good. It does seem like a bit of a gray area, hence my question regarding a transition model and his response. After I received his response, I asked if there was any record of the beginning 2002 production VIN and here was his response. "I’m afraid there is no way to say when the first car with the “2002 tii touring” badge left the factory. These cars did not get a new number range and the change was only a minor cosmetic one anyway."
  21. @BarneyNot so far but I haven't gotten too deep. Does anyone know what this stamp signifies? It's stamped on top of the trunk support..
