  1. Thanks, mine was long gone. Another thing to try to track down when putting this thing right. Thank you, paul.
  2. can you show me a picture of this plug?
  3. thanks! We replaced the rear panel and I need to put back all of the holes for the license plate and lights, badges, ... etc and I didn't remember what that was for.
  4. Hey guys, we are getting ready for paint and wanted to know what that hole, below the rear bumper on the drivers side is for? You can see it at the level of the holes for the bumper. Do we fill it?
  5. Thank you both for the photos. Huge help. I found a local 1972 tii and I am going to measure off of the car on Friday. Between your photos and the measurements I will get I should be good to go!
  6. Hi Guys, I am resorting my 1973 tii and the car had some mods done to it that we are undoing as we are essentially putting the car back to stock. 1.) Specifically I am moving the battery back into the engine compartment and I have to re-make a tii battery tray. This tray is welded in to the car, not bolted in like the non-tii cars. I need to know the dimensions of the tray (width and depth) and the distance from the bottom of the tray to the top of the frame rail. We have pictures of a tray to know what it looks like, we just want to know the dimensions. 2.) Does anyone have a picture of the radiator support without a radiator in it so I can see the holes that are punched into the core support and how the radiator is fastened to it. Ours was zip-tied to the core support and the core support was cut to widen the opening. thank you!! Mike
  7. I just saw your other questions. I'm an orthodontist, so no implants, no crowns, no gas, and no toy. Sorry. I'm not touching the opinions about the girls that work for me.
  8. Oh, and I'm eliminating the side marker lights from the US market b/c I don't like them
  9. Not daily. My m3, or Mini Cooper s are daily driven. But will consider it.
  10. It will be stock with the Colorado paint with the following exceptions: 1. shocks and sway bars 2. Recaro seats covered in baseball glove colored leather 3. 5 speed trans 4. motor built to metric mechanic specs (keeping Kugelfischer injection)
  11. Here's my story, I bought a Colorado 1973tii that was in Massachusetts back in 1999 and had it shipped to Detroit (where I was working for an automotive manufacturer at the time.) The car was original except it had been painted silver and hadn't run for about 10 years. I sorted the car, got it running and then took it apart for a complete restoration. So by 2002, I have decided I don't want to be a powertrain engineer anymore, and I quit and go to dental school @ 29 years old. Car goes into storage in my friend's barn (as a rolling shell and boxes of parts in Aug 2002.) So dental school, orthodontic residency, a new (old) house, a new business, 2 kids and then its 2017, and the car hasn't been touched in 15 years. I decide that I want to do it right and get going. So I contract to have the metal work and paint done by a restoration shop, the trans (5speed) and motor are in Kansas City with Jim Rowe at Metric Mechanic for a build (165hp thank you!) The metal work is done, and I am doing the suspension now, and the car will be painted next month. Then it comes back to me for assembly and finishing. I am doing the full assembly and restoration of all the other parts but the body. Its been pricey, but I am doing it right. I live in Media, PA - outside of Philadelphia. Hope to finish by the end of the year or spring next I will share some pictures.
  12. I think I get it. The thick side is on the outside of the vee (on both sides of the vee.) thanks!
  13. Hi, I'm restoring my 2002tii. I took the rear suspension apart many years ago. I am finally getting to putting it back together. I am ready to press the new rear trailing arm bushings into the trailing arms (I'm using stock bushings) and want to know from which direction you press them in? I think they get pressed from the wheel side but need to make sure. The bushings have stop that makes them need to be pressed from one side or the other. I just need to know how they are oriented (both bushings please.) thanks for the help Mike
