Yes! After thinking I would not find one, picked up a E30 M42 engine + gearbox, diff, computer, engine harnas, air flow meter, drive shaft and radiator in Germany last Friday! So happy! popped up on German Ebay, didnt expect to find one. Since the one I found last month was gone really fast. So I wont be able to tell you if the E36 M42 route will work. Hi guys, thanks for the info! Man you are lucky with that E30 M42 swap, those are hard to find in Europe. As those cars are becoming collectables too. So now im aiming for an E36 M42. Those are easy to find, and since I already have the oil sump from the E30, im half way there Im still in the process of welding on the car, so it will be a couple months before I get to installing a M42. Lets see who gets there first Good luck with your builds! Paul

Hi guys, Wondered if there was more information on the getrag 250 fitting in the 2002? Currently restoring my 73' 1602 and have the same swap in mind. Have got the E30 oil sump already, just looking for an E36 engine now. Be great to get more info on this. thx
