If I have some time before the auction ends, I will try to see what I can find!
  2. Hi Rich- That will work just fine, shoot me a PM with your email and I'll send you PayPal if that's cool. Thanks! Mike

I'll see if I can get any more of the under coating off, but it might take a few days. More to come! Thanks guys! Mike

Couldn't wait to check...so I crawled under there the best I could. Sorry, I don't have a lift ?. I tried scraping the under coating a bit about 3 inches in front of the 5-speed mount and I don't see any evidence of a bracket or any welding/cutting. That said, it would probably be tough to see at almost 50 years and 100K miles later if it was there! I took the best pictures I could with the space constraints so you guys could take a look too.

Here are some pics of the service notes. I have to think that if the dogleg was installed in this mileage range, he would have noted that. The pen/marker used to write in the five speed comments seems to match some of the notes (particularly 34K), which is encouraging but certainly not definitive.

The dogleg was in the car when I purchased it, unfortunately I'm not if it is "original" or not. It does not have the shift knob you referenced, it's similar but no pattern on top. I'm going to leave it for now until I dig into this mystery further. I'll get underneath the car tonight and see what I can find for evidence of a 4-speed mount. I do have a receipt from 2002 that was in the glove box for rebuilding the 5-speed, and I have the original owners manual as well noting all of the service performed between 22K and 98K miles. The same manual has "5 Spd 3.5" hand written in the "at a glance" gearbox line item, but I don't know who may have written that in or when. I did search online for the original owner and it looks like he has unfortunately passed away.

Awesome info, thanks Tom and Steve! I'll keep digging through what else I may be able to find. It is amazing that 2760007 is still under original ownership, I read the stories you posted about the car and was blown away. Truly a special car and something to be very proud of!

Thanks Steve! I emailed the BMW group archives and received a verification of the following: The BMW 2002 tii US VIN 2760026 was manufactured on October 20th, 1971 and delivered on November 22nd, 1971 to the BMW importer Hoffman Motors Corp. in New York City. The original colour was Malaga, paint code 021. I see there were a few cars sold in Canada before 1/6/72 but do you know of any US cars sold before that day? It would be really cool if this was the first tii sold! I didn't think so given that it was #26, but it sounds like it might be possible. Thanks! Mike
  9. Looking for a square rubber shift boot in good used condition. I know you can get them new but I would prefer an OEM original with period wear. Let me know what you have! Thanks Mike

Here are some additional pictures of our tii.
  11. Thanks Jfahuna, I'm all set via a local member. My 74 is back on the road!
  12. I posted this once before but then determined that the transmission itself wasn't the issue. Well....I was wrong after putting it all back together. I'd like to find a good condition working used 4-speed within driving distance if possible, and don't want to spend a fortune. Anyone out there have a working transmission they are looking to get rid of? It will be going in a 74tii. Thanks Mike
  13. Hi everyone, these are pending pick up. If it falls though I will re-post. Thanks!
  14. 02MANYBIMMERS they are still available and pick up would be awesome. I tried to send you a PM but for some reason I can't. If you could shoot me a PM or an email at tucker_mike@att.net we can work out the details. Thanks!
  15. I have a set of black vinyl/cloth seats which I believe were removed from a 76. I purchased these awhile back as I was going to switch my interior to black but I decided against removing the original interior so these are now just sitting around. The vinyl and cloth are in absolutely awesome condition and the padding is in great shape. Leads me to believe they were redone at some point but I don't know. As for the bad, the mechanisms and recliners have had better days and do not function. Might be a simple rebuild or there could be some broken pieces inside. I'd prefer local pick up but I would be willing to ship these Greyhound (too big for UPS) and the buyers expense which would depend on your location. Message me with your zip and I can check it out, you would have to go to your local Greyhound terminal to pick them up.

  17. Hi everyone, I had posted these last year when I made them but just got a request for one and printed a couple extras in case anyone else wanted one. It's my version of the 85MM linkage tool for the 71-74 tii Kugelfisher injection. It's used as a replacement for the 88886135040 which you can no longer get from BMW and is used to set the length of the linkage from the pump to the linkage. It's referenced on page 9 of the injection manual and used on page 12. I found the correct ball studs so that the ends of the linkage fit the tool perfectly. $30 plus $5 shipping for FAQ members. Send me a PM if you are interested in one, I only have a couple left.
  18. Hey everyone, I have two of these left if anyone wants one. Thanks!
  19. Need just the ends, but will take a complete nice bumper if you have one. Located in PA, I'd prefer to pick up but will pay for shipping if needed. Let me know what you have! Mike
  20. Hey everyone, I have a few of these left from the last batch I made if anyone else wants one. Shoot me a PM if so and thanks!
  21. Thanks tomphot! I printed several with this last batch, and and heading to ship the ones I have payment for. If anyone else wants one, I have some printed and can ship immediately.
  22. Hello everyone, I officially ran out of the first batch. I didn't expect everyone to find this as useful as I did. I have a few other requests from forum members, and kicked off another batch this morning on the printer which will be done late tonight. If anyone else wants one, shoot me a PM or just send $35 via paypal to info@tuckercorporation.com (sorry for the generic email, my paypal is linked to my business). I'll get everyone who is waiting shipping tomorrow along with any other requests that come in. Thanks for the interest everyone!
