  2. 1976 2002, VIN 2742541 - Historic Photos

    These are five photos of my ‘76, VIN 2742541, taken from January through April 1977.  The three luxuriously-posed photos of my car were taken in April 1977 by a (professional photographer) friend. These were taken with a Toyo 4"x 5" format view camera, which is why they have spectacular detail. The car had approximately 16,000 miles on it at the time of these three photographs and the Polaris "PVC-frei" paint still looked great. Those are Marchal Series 850 amber fogs. The other deviation from strict stock is a short white whip antenna for my CB radio, mounted at the center of the rear deck lid’s leading edge. The whip itself has been screwed off for the three April 1977 photographs, but the base remains in position.

    These are the only photos I can presently find of the Chamonix sunroof 2002 I totaled back in late 1974 (or was it early 1975?). Although alone in the car at the time, I was clearly not at fault in this single-car incident: trailing-throttle oversteer was the culprit! ;-)
