    I drove my 1975 2002a about five hundred miles this weekend without a glitch. I couldn't believe how well it did on gas, pretty impressed. IT was the first real road trip since I bought it a year ago. I got about 280 miles until it hit the red R on the gauge so I am assuming it was getting about 30mpg, giving the fact I was only pumping 10 gallons from the red R.........

    I have a 1975 2002 that has 63,000 original miles. I bought it last summer and the car runs great (new points,plugs,cap,rotor, wires, fuel tank). My problem is that after the engine is warm and it should start right up it takes a few cranks and a little gas peddle to get it started. I understand its carbureted but I would think that once warm it should start without having to give the gas pedal a tap or two. I pulled the top of the carburetor off and cleaned the inside out it wasn't real dirty. I also set checked the timing it was also okay. Could it be a week fuel pump, vacuum line, carb gaskets, or maybe some fine tuning adjustments to the carb? It has the original solex carburetor, which runs great but the one barrel doesn't look like it gets fuel. Is that normal? Does that side only get fuel at full throttle? I am new at these 2002's but I am learning more every day. Any advise would be appreciated.. Thank you,

    I recently replaced my fuel tank on my 2002 due to a very small pin hole leak on the bottom. I did not have the resources to fix, nor did anyone in my area(trust me I looked for about a week for someone to fix it). So I bought a new tank and thought maybe somebody in 2002 land might be interested in my old one to fix. overall it doesn't seem rusty inside or out. I believe the hole was caused by the tank scraping backing out of my driveway. I am not sure what the shipping would be but I am going to save the box my new tank came in to ship the old. Best offer takes it!!!!! plus shipping will post pictures today...

    Decided to sell, let me know if there are any questions or specific pictures you would like. 1975 2002 auto. I purchased the car last year from who I believe to be the second owner(an older gentleman in his 80's). He purchased the car sometime in the early eighties and had it repainted because he didn't like the lime green color. He only drove the car on rare occasions and it had 63,000 miles when I bought it(I believe to be original). The car needed brakes tie rods inner and outer I also had new shocks front and rear done with an alignment. I also had new tires because the ones that it had were bias ply looking tires from the seventies and badly dry rotted. The interior was very clean black and all original but needed padding so I had them professionally re-padded with foam not horse hair. It has the original solex carburetor and starts right up and drives very nice. The body and the floors are pretty much rust free with only a little rust at the bottom corners of the front fenders, the rear shock towers and the truck is solid no rust that I can see. This fall I had a tree limb fall from a tree in my back yard and crack the windshield but didn't do any other damage(I was lucky). So after all that what would something like this be worth if I were to sell it. I am just not crazy about it being an automatic thats the only reason I might sell.     Hey, I am looking at another 2002 that is for sale. This one is a 1974 2002tii california car prior to 2008 no rust all original paint is faded a few dings and scratches, runs and drives good with a few leaks, interior needs some work too but is original. the odometer isn't working but says 53,000 doesn't look to have much more miles on it. He is asking 5,000 obo. Does that sound like a good deal?

    Ok , I got the electric flasher unit and my turn signals work the dash indicator works, but still no hazards or interior dome light! Any Ideas? They still seem to work while pushing the hazard button in half way. Ground issue maybe?

    I have read that was an option ,but I would like to use the original switch seeing how I just bought a new one. Or are you trying to tell me that I am waisting my time with the original switches? Thank you for your reply!

    Ok, I have a 1975 2002 automatic. The green B light was always lit on the dash, and would not blink with the turn signals, and the hazards didn't work. So I bought a new hazard switch thinking that was the problem, nope it did the same as the old switch. But when I was pushing the switch in and out, somewhere in between the dome light came on for the first time(prior it was not working at all), as well as the hazard lights began to work(also was not working prior). Does that switch have something to do with the dome light? Seeing that nothing changed with the new switch would my problem be a ground issue? I plan on doing some testing but just wanted some input before hand.

    I have a pin hole leak on the bottom of my fuel tank. Where can I get a new fuel tank? Or can mine be fixed with epoxy?

    It had been repainted about twenty or so years ago, but looks nice. I will post some pictures when I get her. Are the automatic transmissions reliable?

    Hello, I am new here. I am going to purchase a real nice 1972 2002a very little rust almost none. the interior is damn near perfect. the car runs and drives well. It has been owned by an 85 year old man since the early 80's, even has the original eight track stereo. My questions are what should I look for , and are automatic 2002 good? I checked underneath the car and the floors are solid looks like the car was always garage kept and it has only 65,000 miles. The old guy wants 2,800.00. is that fair? Plus the car has new state inspection.
