I recently picked up a '76 2002 that seems to have had some of the smog gear removed already (those little bell things on the firewall were missing, plugs dangling) the car ran fine and idled well, no complaints. I finished the job today - removing the harness and the various connections around the intake manifold and fuse box. I then ran a wire from fuse 12 to the positive end of the coil.
However, the car is more difficult to start now and will not idle. I can keep it alive when a little gas but at part throttle it seems to stumble. Revving the engine seems smooth, however.
The distributor doesn't have any vacuum lines running off of it, so I assume it is the mechanical type.
Thoughts?
