I like shopping at Blunttech. RealOEM is great for finding part numbers.

Looking good! I can relate to "...when I took it apart...". I bought a project, realized I was in over my head, so I sold the main components and bought a relatively sorted 72 2002...and immediately proceeded to start taking things apart. Think I am going to limit myself to stuff I can get done in the next few days. Treat it like a daily driver.

Ive felt in over my head multiple times on this but keep pushing through and have amazed myself at how much i have learned. However not sure i would want to do another 🤣- 3

@M3This .... looks stunning. Cannot wait to see a video off it ripping up to Bogus.
Thanks getting excited. Should be heading your way soon for drivetrain install with Matt. Hoping to be ripping it up Bogus by middle to end of summer.

Did you ask SOC? I would start there. Off hand, I would say the level of fit and finish on his parts is very (very) high. Still there is always going to be some fettling attaching A to B. There are others besides Chris. I would go back to my first line, ask the vendor your questions, if you get answers you don't like or need more info, ask others.

Thanks for the share of my IG account. If anyone has questions please feel free to message me as im happy to answer them. IG is usually quicker as I'm on there more often then FAQ but also I check PMs on here as well occasionally.
As for the quality its top notch. If you look at anything Paul does its above and beyond as his craftsmanship is his art and he treats it that way. Just look at his personal 2002 builds and the amount of detail work in each.
When Bart @ the Resto Shop did all the body work on my car the SOC parts needed very little work but Paul had done all the installation previously to Bart getting the car.

… that’s my take on the earlier posters image of the two types of plastic bushes. There were only three locations on the window I found the old ones, #5 being one location.
As an aside, there is also a small plastic bush of a very similar nature on the rear quarter window as well.
Thanks for confirming that. Maybe i can email MCMaster about the white ones and just suck it up and order the black ones from BMW -
Also based on realoem the black ones look like they are available from BMW but if the white ones are #5 above they are not.

Sorry I misread it.
Whether you can use a slightly different size depends on how it’s used in the window. What’s the critical dimension? Length? ID or OD? Whats not critical to it’s function can likely have a different dimension…
i think the black ones are for #20 in the image below but not sure what the white ones are used for.
I havent gotten into the install yet as was just trying to make sure ingather all the parts first.

White looks 1/4” ID x 1/4” long, so https://www.mcmaster.com/6389K352Black looks to be 6mm ID x 5mm long with 10mm OD. They only show 4mm and 6mm length, and only in off-white. Get a 6mm and shave a mm?
https://www.mcmaster.com/6389K713
i think the 2nd ones might work but the the first i dont think will as it needs to 1/4” OD with 5/32” ID (i guess thats the diameter of a #8 screw) and 1/4” long.
thanks for showing me these though
