NM, NA, etc.

Appears to be a euro car, judging by the lack of reflectors on the sides and back.

I've heard the computers in those cars can cause major headaches, and the cars in general if not properly maintained.
-
I've always used an old one that looks like that Sunpro, I think it is either from Sears or Pennys. My father bought it when he was in high school, never let us down. Why is digital better? Am I missing some new-fangled nifty features?

I would look through the wiring and see if the P/O used a voltage drop to still use the original 6v gauges.

Not mine, no affiliation. This car appears to be original, judging by the air cleaner and the interior. Possibly a good resto candidate for someone.

Spotted, no affiliation

I second the choice for Pierce Manifolds. 32/36 gives plenty of power, and way better MPG than the 38/38. Only my opinion though. I think a 38/38 has no place on a stock motor.
-
I never heard back either. I can't stand craigslist flakes, at least hit "reply to all" and tell us its sold!
-
I think your jets may be too big, unless you are sure you got the correct ones. This would cause a rich condition. As far as your mileage, I have heard that the 38/38 is pretty bad on gas, I have heard 15-20mpg is typical. I myself have a 32/36, and I usually average 25mpg in 50/50 highway/city

I'm not trying to call attention to them, I was just getting sick of seeing people get sucked in to it.

I too, wanted to express my thanks to the organizers and all who attended. The weather cooperated and the roads were nothing short of fantastic. This community is truly something special, and I hope it stays that way.

I bought an all original and stock 72 that had been maintained somewhat, but it is by no means a show car. The car only has a little bit of surface rust in a couple places, but then again I only paid $4500 and I drive it every day. I suppose it also depends on where you are located as well. California is by far the best place to buy a car, but the cars on the coast develop the peculiar "top down" rust phenomenon.

Marvel Mystery Oil works wonders. We bought a willys jeep a while back that was seized solid. Poured some marvel into the cylinders through the spark plug holes, and 3 days later she bursted into life.

I will probably be heading down there from Rohnert Park, assuming I finish my brake job on thursday.

I really like the sketch, but I think there are a couple things you could change around.
1. I think the roofline needs to be a bit more formal, I think thats where he sees the camaro coming out
2. I really like the reveal around the trunklid, hopefully that carries through across the back of the car

It really comes down to the condition of the car in question and if it has a sunroof, (2002s with out sunroofs are really just parts cars anyway) rather than the year, they all can be desmoged easily enough. 72's and on all come with 2bbl carbs and that manifold can get you up to a weber 40/40 carb with a bit of mods.
I think I am missing something. What's wrong with no sunroof?

If they are black and yellow they must go on a car made before 1969. In 69 they released the blue and yellow plates. There is a way to do it, under "Year of Manufacture" plates. All black and yellow plates are stamped with one year (63 if memory serves) but they were used from 62-69.

I find that the 76 stations use a different type of rubber boot than the other stations, in my experience. All the other stations use a bellows style, whereas the 76 by me uses a simple rubber donut. This allows me to get the nozzle in farther into the filler neck at about a 45 degree angle to the car. Then I rotate the nozzle so the hose is in about the 7-8 o clock position and fill at half speed. This is the only method I have found without making a filler device.

I personally am not a fan of things made in the peoples republic. Granted, many of the things they work are fine and have no problems. However, this has not been my experience. I bought a cheap fan for the corner of my living room over the summer when it was quite hot. When trying to put the fan together, I realized they gave me two of the same leg! Upon returning to the store, an employee and myself realized after opening 5 boxes they all had two copies of the same leg. I still have my wobbly fan that I duct-taped/wood screwed together.

Right hand drive??

I am definitely interested in your panels. I'm up in Rohnert Park, so I could easily pick them up. What did you think you wanted for them?
-
I'm looking for the panels that go over the spare tire and the gas tank on the trunk floor for a 72 2002. Strange thing to need, right? Anybody have a set?

Sounds like an all around win for the 5 speed! Sadly, I can't be without the car for more than a weekend, because it is my only car. That, and the money thing of course. Thanks for all the input, fingers crossed it holds together until I can do it properly.
1973 Tii been sitting for 10 years - What to look for?
in BMW 2002 and other '02

I've bought old cars before, but I'm wondering if there is anything in particular to watch out for on a 73 tii that has been sitting for 10 years. More specifically, I'm worried about the fuel injection system as I am not familiar with it. The owner says it runs and drives, but everything needs a once over. I'm going to look at the car wednesday, any input would be most helpful.
