  2. I have some 2002 parts that I need to get rid of. They are free for the taking. All it takes is a drive to Orange, California. When this ad expires all parts will go in the trash. 2.0 liter lower end. The keyway on the crankshaft is a little messed up but it ran just fine and I'm sure will continue to. 4 speed transmission works fine but some parts of the shift linkage were scavenged. E21 head which leaked coolant into the cylinders. Not sure if it is cracked/warped or if it was a gasket problem. Some other miscellaneous parts. Exhaust manifold (with smog equipment attachment crap) Stock radiator, engine mount broke and the fan did some damage and all the coolant leaked out. I'm sure it could be recored if you are looking for the original look
  3. William, Great post! It was truly informative and thoroughly entertaining. I am in desperate need of a pedal box rebuild in the near future. Regarding the uneven wear on the gas pedal assembly. I would guess something is bent, possibly the pedal mounting bracket. I know I had to do a lot of tweaking on mine when I replaced my carpet and saw how mangled it was. Where did you buy all of the parts for your pedal box rebuild? Thanks, Paul
  4. Thanks for all of the input. I have heard of both places before but I will definitely look into Pierce Manifolds as it sounds like they have better service than the place I had tried to deal with initially. I will also check out webercarbsdirect.com and see if their prices on the parts I need are considerably cheaper. Paul
  5. I need to rebuild my Weber 38DGES and I am looking for a source for parts. I need all gaskets and basically anything that can wear and would be replaced in a rebuild. I have tried to contact one parts supplier and they didn't answer their phone. After leaving a message I got a voicemail from someone, who was difficult to understand, but the company name they left did not match either that I have heard associated with them. Something just didn't seem right. Who have you FAQers used to buy Weber parts from? TIA, Paul
  6. Ken, I am sorry that I missed your reply to my post. I assume that when you said that you, "will be in your area this week and will take the wheels if they're still available." that you meant a couple of days ago now. If you are still interested and will be in the area again in the somewhat near future let me know. If you are still interested and won't be in the area I am not against driving to meet you at some point in between us. It has been along time since I have even seen another 2002 on the road, let alone talked to someone who drives one. Paul
  7. The wheels are from a 1973 2002. Honestly, it has been so long since I have looked at them I don't remember what they look like. I will take pictures as soon as my camera battery charges and post them. I will include one of the radiator too though there doesn't seem to be much interest in that. Paul Edit/Update I now have pictures of the wheels and the radiator.
  8. - 4 stock steel 2002 wheels - Stock radiator, damaged by fan when engine shifted forward. Good for a core or a 3 core rebuild. Free if you come and pick them up in Orange, Ca. That's Southern California if you aren't familiar with the area. Paul
  9. I have an Ireland aluminum radiator with an electric Spal push fan mounted in front. The install was a bit of an emergency, big downshift = motor shift = dead stock radiator, and it is wired to run whenever the ignition is on. The problem is that the fan is pretty loud, I am sure that running it all the time is causing unnecessary wear and tear on the fan, plus the radiator keeps the car cool with no fan unless you are stopped in traffic on a warm day. I know because I put the radiator in two days before I got the electric fan in the mail. Anyway, I am looking to install a temperature switch in the bung on the bottom of the radiator so the fan only turns on when the coolant temp reaches a certain threshold. Anyone out there have a similar setup? I know that the bung has a 10x1 metric thread. At what temperature does your temp switch turn on? What brand is it? Where did you get it? Does anyone in the Orange County, CA area have a use for a stock radiator that doesn't hold water? It could be used for a 3 core rebuild. It's free if you come and get it. TIA, Paul
  10. GO FOR IT! I definitely second rx8rotary's advice on the essentials. I know this is a 2002 forum, and I do have one now and have had two others in the past, but a couple of years ago my wife and I bought a 1960 Cadillac Sedan de Ville from a guy in Tennessee. We tried for weeks to get three different trucking companies to ship it to Southern California. I finally got pissed and bought two one way tickets, for about the same price it would have cost to have the car shipped. Flew back, drove it around a bit decided to just drive it home. Went to WalMart bought some flares, coolant, water, the battery charger/booster thing. It was one of the coolest things we have done. Made it back with no problems in three days. You might want to upgrade your AAA to premium before you leave though. Just in case. Paul
  11. scoyote, I just sent you an email with some questions. TIA, Paul
  12. I am trying to put an set of stock 2002 seats in my current 2002 which has a set of 320 seats, in bad condition, in it. My problem is that the 2002 I have now, got it for free as a stripped body after my last 2002 was totaled when I was rear ended on the freeway, no longer has the mechanisms that allowed the front/back seat adjustment for the stock seats. I believe the had three square holes that meshed with the "sawteeth" on the bottom of the seat rail attached to the seat. I searched all the parts I have stripped off of my previous two 2002s and found the plastic handles that went on the end of the levers but can't find the rest of the assemblies. Of course I don't really know what the rest of it looks like so for all I know it is sitting right in front of me. I searched the the Parts Catalog and couldn't seem to find them. If someone could supply a picture, tell me what section of the Parts Catalog they are in, or has a set of them the are willing to sell I would be very appreciative. TIA, Paul
