Went through this a few years ago, thick to thin (or maybe the other way around) as long as you have a matched pad/box combo it will swap right in.
-
I have do this all the time, its the only way to grab a lower gear in my worn trans! Second the technique of heel on the gas, toe on brake.
-
I've looked and looked, but haven't found a picture of this swap. I'm mostly interesting in what sheet metal work is involved to the rad support. Anyone have a pic of one they shoehorned in?
Thanks

going in yet another direction with my '70. Looking for a driver's side with good frame and all the chrome bits, levers, etc. Shot fabric and pads OK. If you've got a driver/pass set and really want them both gone, I'll do that too.
Send me a PM or email to expatriotbone at gmail . com
Thanks

I like the looks of it. Is the bar adjustable/able to be preloaded at all? I have this feeling that my strut towers are in a *slightly* different place than a less beat up 02

the wash/wipe timed relay (1" round canister, 3 wires, mounts to firewall) had failed and shorted, sending the wipers into low-speed wipe mode whenever the key was on. After I disconnected it, the wipers parked themselves and run normally, but lost the wash function. One of these days I'll find a replacement relay.

Maybe it didn't get through. I'm very interested, please contact be through the email button above, or at expatriotbone at gmail dot com

I've but about 50k miles on this setup from an e9. Its rare, but not quite as much as a turbo tank.

13's fit just fine over volvo fronts and 320i rears with a 1" spacer. Everything will still clear the fenders with 185/70-13 tires. Use spacers that have their own set of studs pressed in and you'll have the benefit of studs on all 4 corners for far easier wheel mounting.

My setup:
stock 2.0L block/head
alpina type header w/2.25" exhaust
292 cam
overdrive 5sp w./3.64
mikuni phh 44's w/33 chokes
180 air
120 main
52.5 idle jets
Driveablilty=Awesome. Cold, hot, daily commute, 600+mile blast to Lake Tahoe, play up in the hills, going for groceries, makes no difference--its just plain fun.

As for low-end-grunt, I can easily spend all day below 2500rpm on my daily commute. Sometimes I have to because of traffic.
But we all know that's just no fun

I had the local muffler shop do a 2 1/4" with 2 glasspacks in series, one in the trans tunnel where the resonator would be, and one where the stock muffler goes. Its pretty quiet lugging around town, but goose it a little--big grin!
Sounds just like a hot 4-banger should, imho.

Very interested in the BAE manifold, I'll even come pick it up!

Still looking--driver side seat for roundie

Early headrest style, black preferred. If you're someplace I can drive to for pickup near 95126 that's even better. Email me at expatriotbone at gmail dot com. Thanks
