if it is, just turn your car upside-down.
-
Flip the kidney grille right-side up and I bet you'll fetch an additional $100!
Wish I had the cash, that's a damn fine car. GLWS.
-
can't tell much from the photos, but that front clip might be worth saving.

no rush.
is this legal tender?
This will certainly do. We make the occasional jaunt to Old Town so I can deliver, too, if you're not in any particular rush. EIther way, I'll box up all the bits.
Incidentally, it seems that John Blake's email has changed - do you have an updated address for him?

Do we get a motor for $18.5K? I'm continually amazed at the lack of (good) photos of cars for which the buyer is looking to fetch that much skrilla.
BTW who picked up that 72 tii in Brandywine?
-
I'd never buy that thing! It's kidney grille is upside-down.
Beautiful example of an M20, and a good excuse to buy a lottery ticket.
-
sorry! consider it yours...email sent your way.

Purchased many moons ago and never once used. Will post photo tonight. $30 + shipping from Richmond, VA sound reasonable?

Jon,
Those wheels are the very ones I picked up from you in Niagara Falls in 03. Paul's '73 donned another set.

I had a set of 4 Alpina steelies (all ROUND holes) 6 x 13 stamped 4/71. That is all I recall, other than the fact that they easily fit over big front brakes a la Volvo/Girling calipers.

it's too bad that between the time it was owned by the dude @ that car wash joint and the last guy that it lost the tii alloys. still need DS glass? the ad's not gone from CL....
-
I am tempted to offer this cat cash and a no-hassle pick-up just to - selfishly - get myself back in the 02 game. Guess I'd better watch the bidding.
-
interested pending title. just how complete is this car?
-
I'll take it - how would you like payment?
It's yours. A personal check is fine if you don't need this thing immediately....that OK by you? I'll email you contact info if that works.

Shallow grille. No reflector, looking for $25 shipped in CONUS. Located in Richmond, VA if you'd like to pick up. 02-less for the long term and this thing is just taking up space in the shed!
-
...and I hope never to see one again!

uh....HEY MIKE!
Old friend, we are in Richmond now, too...since summer of '07. Need to catch up sometime.
Best,
Marty
PS apologies for the thread hijack

easiest way to break the tq on the rear hub nut (short of compressed air) = 36mm socket and 3/4" drive breaker bar. this means your socket will need to be 3/4" drive (duh). bring along a good, heavy persuader bar to slip over the end of the breaker bar.

I dunno, Bill. I can tell you're frustrated, so I'll take that touring off your hands and save you the elevated BP.
What a beauty you have in that little car!

the $64,000 question ---

Good afternoon guys and gals,
Hoping to contact mlytle to get in touch with the owner of his old M10 motor with the Kerman head and hot bottom end. I built that motor in 2001/2002 and would LOVE to give receipts and machine work/Kerman head work documentation to its new owner. IIRC the block is stamped with a 278xxxx VIN as engine 2592564 was too far gone to accept a 0.050 overbore.
Was in '73 malaga VIN 2592564 that I see ended up with a fella named Noah.
FWIW that motor was built with NEW Mahle 0.050 over grand piano 9.5:1 pistons, NEW Schrick 292, NEW Schrick HD valve springs and a bunch of other goodies. Machine work on the bottom end done by John Spindler when he was in Owings Mills. Superb, superb work - balancing, slight decking of the block, etc. Kerman built the head, which included porting and port matching on the TI intake manifolds.
Saw it in his project blog and it brought back all the great memories I had with that car, most of which was the MANY lifelong friends made through ownning an 02 and largely through this board.

Too rich and big-bumpered for my blood. Nice ride nonetheless!
