1973 Tii

LJtii

This is 2763751, which I bought out of a grocery store parking lot after leaving a note on the windshield in '99. The car was dirty and the driver's door was dented from the door brake allowing it to blow open. This probably contributed to the owner's decision to sell it, along with the fact that she had just been given a greater sales territory to cover, for which she wanted a new car. In its favor, the BMW had a freshly-rebuilt motor, factory alloy wheels, and Recaro front seats. Against it was a trunk full of miscellaneous junk, a dirty engine bay, and the fact that the car's exterior was sufficiently dirty that one could not realistically tell its true condition. But the underside had been Ziebarted when new, and it as well as the wheel wells and rocker panels were clean and showed no corrosion. Plus, it had spent the bulk of its life in the Santa Barbara area and had been stored by the owner's cousin (the car's first owner) for 17 years. (Why?) So I made her an offer of $6500, which she accepted. The car cleaned up beautifully, runs like a new car, and remains unrestored.
