bumper straiten pull

The bumper on a 1975 BMW 2002 has mount that compress when hit. The previous owner of this car let it roll into a tree compressing the bumper on the right side. So, using 4 tie down straps hooked to the right side of the bumper and then hooked to a trailer hitch on our van we were able to pull the bumper mounts back out by carefully using small quick pulls a little at a time until the bumper mounts were fully out again and the bumper was once again straight! We used large truck wheel chucks to keep the car from not moving too much. Warning - if you have the same car and the same situation be careful as you could damage your bumper and or car.
