BMW 02Fest Northeast 2009 at Lime Rock Park

Hello FAQ Crew,

Sports Car Restoration is proud to announce that we are once again primary organizer and sponsor of this great event. Lime Rock Park is one of our favorite places to visit throughout the year. 02Fest is part of the Larger Rolex Vintage Festival weekend. This is one of the best vintage car events held on the East coast, and there is so much to see in addition to the 2002's. The event attracted around 40+ 02's last year, and I would only expect that to jump after the response to the 08 gathering. Here is the link for the main event:

Admission will be based on Lime Rock ticket prices. You must purchase tickets for the Lime Rock Vintage Festival to participate in 02Fest. The whole weekend is great. Racing Friday, Saturday, and Monday. I would suggest attending at least one of the race days in addition to the car show on Sunday. I believe AAA also sells tickets at it's CT branches. There will be no additional cost or pre-registration involved with 02Fest. We will be doing a t-shirt and dash plaque. We are working hard to get some goodie bags assembled for participants, and raffle items from our favorite vendors.

Our group of 2002's will be displayed on the track this year. All cars for "Sunday in the Park" will be displayed on the track. You must be at the track by 9am Sunday morning to be placed along with the 02Fest group.

Nate Vincent, Brian Roller, and I made a preliminary trip to Lime Rock yesterday because it was too nice of a day to be at the shop beyond noon, and two 02's were running in separate classes. We discussed organizing a drive for a week or two prior to the event. We will post something concrete once it has been figured out. Thanks,

Hey FAQ Crew,

I am so excited about 02Fest this year. Things have really been falling into place for us, and Lime Rock seems to be working hard to make the Vintage Festival the best yet.

We at SCR have been working very hard to provide great raffle prizes and stuffed goodie bags for attendees this year, and at this point, I think almost everyone who shows up will go home with something nice. So many of our favorite 02 parts vendors and distributors have dug deep, and promised gift certificates and sweet parts for us to giveaway.

I would really like to begin an informal headcount because of some outstanding logistics with Lime Rock. They are excited to be hosting our 2002 crowd, and want to make sure that we have ample space, and have a great time. It will also be helpful when we do the shopping for the refreshments.

I will book my airline tickets tomorrow. After attending the West Coast Rolex Vintage event I am looking forward to returning to Connecticut to spectate and enjoy both the 02Fest Northeast as well as the Rolex Vintage weekend. Keep the 02 torch burning brightly and let's try to get as many cars as possible in 09. I am up for a caravan if you guys can keep up with me :-)

The California people could only manage a dozen or so 2002's. Let's show them how it's done!

Hello 02Fest Participants,

I have some news from Lime Rock. They would like our group to be displayed on the track as part of the main show on Sunday. Fred Jackson would like to fill up as much of the track as possible this year. All people attending 02Fest MUST be at Lime Rock by 9am at the latest if they would like to be placed on the track with our group. They will be reserving space for 2002's only, so make sure to bring your cameras.
