74 US spec 2002 that I bought from a fellow Air Force member in 1982 while in the Air Force stationed in Germany. At that time, I had a 75 Euro spec Sahara 1802 and that 1802 convinced me to drink the 02 Kool-Aid and I wanted an 02 when I got back to the US. The 2002 was originally purchased at VOB motors in Rockville, MD. The previous owner had Wogatzke BMW dealer in Kaiserslautern Germany install a new Euro spec small block due to the 74 2002 piston ring issue. Served me well until a red light runner totaled it in May 1994 on old historic highway 66 in Claremont, CA. Motor was given to Jack Fahuna as a partial trade on services rendered. Jack in turn installed the 4224378 motor in a customers car around 2003 timeframe so maybe the motor is still out there? The E21 5 speed that was in the car was good for a boat anchor after the collision.
