About those welds.....

Can you see if there was enough heat to penetrate the thicker piece?

it looks to me to be quite thick on top but not much discoloring which is an indicator of proper penetration. hard to say with those pics but just in case....

I would cut up some scraps of that tubing, create a good clean, chamfered and tight joint and practice my welds and inspect them from the inside to see any penetration indicators. Adjust settings and repeat till you are happy with the results.

Apart from that, enjoy the rebuild! Mine has been sitting for 2 years on the rotisserie with nil progress...Sigh.....

like the idea of adjustable links for the sway bar and the mounting pts make sense. do you have a favorite book or 2 that explains race susp. geometry and setup?

Maybe a bike shop will have the proper crimpers. Try both pedal and motorized! Otherwise maybe the guys that make automotive custom throttle cables ( Locar? ). Hot rod shop?

When you look at the specs of a car and they state the front + rear track, does that measurement reach the outside or centre of the tires? Another thought was that it measured to the outside of the axel.... And one friend said maybe to the outside of the fenders....What is this esteemed board's opinion? TIA

Had the same issue when I moved to Oz. i was a mess for a couple of weeks. Funnier yet was that it took me a month to get used to left hand drive when I returned 10 months later

Don't ask me about turn signal stalks, headlight stalks and wiper switches. I was a danger in the roundabouts for the first while.

Possible lower mounting point under the water pump so lower CG? Those GM parts are cheap and plentiful so economical swap? How did you adapt the plug?

Later cars were required to have door crash bars added as a safety measure. My guess is that one door was damaged and replaced with such a later door.
