Finally had a chance to get over to the shop and do a little more digging, it seems like the black/red is missing from the back of the starter, this wiring comes in from a separate area into that brown harness. Everything else seems like old uneeded wires. Going to strip it down remove that relay that seems to do nothing and go from there. Will keep it in box of parts just incase but I really have no where else for this to go. It is also a separate loom from the rest going into the fuse box , so easy delete

The wire with the green/yellow tape on it at the bottom of the picture. I think I see a K(maybe choke). It appears to be a green and white wire.
yes this was labeled 12v K. i did meter the wire it had no voltage. So is that normally on the emissions loom?

The blue conduit for the emissions wiring might be a 1975-76 thing — and perhaps not a 1974 thing. Was yours possibly a ‘75 or ‘76?
Best regards,
Steve
Mine is a 74

Where is the temp sensor wire?
1974 BMW 2002 4-Speed
BRINGATRAILER.COMBid for the chance to own a 1974 BMW 2002 4-Speed at auction with Bring a Trailer, the home of the best vintage and classic cars online. Lot #92,775.Like in this car here, that harness seems to be plugged into the water choke, car still has all emissions and seems like the harness is also plugged into a sensor in the back of the intake

Temp sensor wasn't plugged in at this point, was in the harness with the starter wires and such. No clue where the choke wire is, going to be running a new one for the weber. Ive been looking through photos of 74s on bring a trailer for reference and I just cant tell.

1974 2002
Before you roast me, I have looked over the diagram many times. These crunchy brown wrapped wires have me stumped. Tested wires and have no clue where these are supposed to go. They go into a relay and when I unplug this relay nothing seems to change. At this point I'm starting to wonder if its for old emissions that's no longer there. Its not wiring for the washer pump as ive already found and tested that in the passenger fender area.

Description:
Open to offers,
Going to be M20 turbo swapping, and I do not wish to store any of this. I know me Ill have this sitting and see a shell, buy it have another car and I just don't have room.
So basically anything m10 related or that wont be working with the m20 needs a new home
Motor runs well, still in car and most likely will be for awhile unless someone wants to buy then Ill take it to my uncles shop and remove it.
Stamped e21 2.0 head, weber 38/38 carb with electric choke. Pertronix dizzy with new cap and rotor, valve cover gasket replaced, new belt, new alt bushings. Chassis of car shows 91k miles but is a 74 so TMU.
Long tube headers, also brand new exhaust on the car can sell that too
Transmission 4 speed, speedo output works, has issue sliding into 2nd but will if you get it just right, i did put new bushings in it could just need to be adjusted, New Guibo, new MTl fluid.
Dif works great new liquimoli fluid
Can take radiator, hoses etc,
I can strap it to a pallet and load in the back of your truck
