It wont stay in position or return. The signals work but no indicator light. I replaced the bulbs.

So I just installed electric power steering in my 02. I removed the steering column and sent it to EPowersteering for his conversion. When I removed the ignition wires I made a diagram and labeled the wires and took photos so I would reconnect them correctly. Well one thing led to another and the marker I used got smeared and the photos were upside down but everything is back in place. I was just looking for verification.

While the car was down I decided to remove the cluster and replace the instrument lights so that was another project. I have since grounded the cluster using the method that was shared in this conversation. My gauges are now working correctly but the signal indicator light is not working. My turn signal switch is shot and need to replace it. I believe this is causing the indicator light problem.

I used incandescent bulbs and they are all working. The signal flasher is working as well as the signal lights. Not sure why the headlights on peg the gauges but I will try grounding the cluster and checking the pins. Does anyone have a photo of the ignition switch wiring? 

I will try that method as well. Also, the turn signal indicator light has stopped working. I switched out bulbs and no light. Turn signals are working but no indicator light. All were working prior to removing the dash.

No, I grounded the housing but I did see this method in the search 

Looking to replace my turn signal switch for my '76.

I just replaced all my instrument bulbs which are working but when I pull the headlight switch the fuel and temp gauge are pegged.  I added a ground to the gauge cluster but everything was working prior to that. I added the ground since I had the cluster removed and tried it both connected and disconnected with the same result. Also found the fuse instrument light blown but that has been replaced and the lights are working. Any ideas?

1976 2002

Instrument indicator lights not working. Turn signals and high beams work, hazard switch works as well. I upgraded to a new flasher but prior to that the lights were not working. It appears both just stopped working. Not sure if it is bulbs but it seems odd that both would be bad.

Any ideas?

'76 2002

I have had a rattle in the right rear which occurs when the suspension reacts to bumps. It is not the exhaust, shocks, anything in the trunk. I believe I found the rattle and it appears the right half shaft is moving back and forth vertically. The noise appears when I move the shaft towards the differential and hits the carrier. I have to give it a hard shove and it makes that noise. Sometimes there is resistance but it then loosens and makes that noise.

The car shows 46,000 miles but who knows for sure. I did a complete suspension rebuild, new bushings, shocks, center support bearing, etc. The shaft boots are in good shape but I am leaning towards the CV Joint.

Any thoughts???

Has anyone ordered a new VIN plate from Coupeking? I have been waiting 4 weeks now which may be normal and I understand they do not mass produce these and have other jobs in the process. The order was received and they sent a response with tracking number but it has not shipped. I sent and inquiry after 4 weeks just asking for a timeline and no response.

No big deal and it appears they are reputable, alive, and operating.

E30 Sport seats from 1991 318is. Front seats have been re-upholstered. Rear seat is original in very nice condition. I have a video of the seats as well. Picture of seats mounted in my 2002.
