  3. Price: $3000
    Location: Northern California (Sacramento area)

    Description:
1969 2002 for sale.  Sorry I don't have much information on this car. Contact me and I'll put in you touch with the owner.
Here is the owner's (not me) description.
I’m the original owner of 1969 2002, purchased new from Swedish Motors in Marin. For 20 years it’s been parked outdoors. It has some obvious rust, including in the spare tire well; a mostly gone interior; needs body/rubber/trim/bushing work, who knows what electrically, and safety check/replacement of hydraulic systems. It has a stock engine with Weber carb and two-barrel manifold; I also have the original Solex and single-barrel manifold. Original four-speed, with second gear synchro in decent shape. Mechanically okay the last time I drove it 20 years ago. The gas tank is probably full of some jellied substance by now. Asking $3000 or best offer.

  4. Skicoach, thanks for the reply.  My thought process was since I would need to rebuild an engine for the car that I would most likely use a BMW M10.  Seeing the restoration is not going to be a 100% restoration, I wanted a engine with a little more power.  The M10 would give me that option while keeping it in the BMW family.

  5. Thanks Axco.  I know you are one of the foremost experts on these cars so maybe you can answer a few more questions. Other than the original engine and the M10 is there any other (preferably a BMW) engine that is an easy fit?  As I’m rebuilding the car I want to consider all options.  Also is there a market for the original engine? I have two and I’m not sure if I will be using both both. If I could sell one it would help me move the project along. Thank you.

  6. Price: $7500
    Location: Redding, CA.

    Description:

For sale: 1976 2002. Asking $7500 obo. Location: Redding, CA. I have never seen this car nor do I know the seller. The seller contacted me (President, Sacramento Valley BMW CCA) and asked for my help in advertising the car. They did say the engine is "frozen". It comes with all the new parts (including new Weber carbs) shown. Stated $7352 has been invested in the project so far. If interested please contact the seller (not me) at 707-228-2595 (Lance).  FOr those that are wondering, I'm sorry but I live too far to go look at this car in person.

  7. I know this forum is for the BMW 1600 GT.  I have four 1967 1700 GTs.  Obviously BMW owned Glas at this time but my car is sans the kidney grills, M10 engine and rear trailing arm suspension.  My question is how is this car looked at by the BMW community?  Would it be welcomed at BMW car events such as Then Vintage and/or O'fest for example?

  8. Are you still looking for stock wheels for your 1700?  I just picked up a bunch of parts, including wheels.  I have four 1967 1700 GT.  I'm just starting to sort them out to see if they are worth restoring or just parting out.  May have extra wheels. Let me know if you still want them and we'll work out a price.
