@Geoff Raynak Thank you. 2mm inset is more what I was expecting from memory and the line drawings in the FSM. I imagine you needed to have this number yourself for your EV conversion?

Coplanar works for me!
Thanks, again,
Jesse.

Thanks, but I think that is measuring to the rear seal cover mounting surface, which I think is inset?
What I need is the transmission mounting surface. The flat part of the block that the transmission mounts to.
Or are they the same? My memory says "no", but I could easily be wrong.
Thank you!
Jesse.

Hi,
Could someone do me a favor and measure the offset from the crank face (where the flywheel mounts) to the block face (where the transmission mounts)?
This distance:
Foolishly, I forgot to do it myself when I had the engine out during my EFI swap project.
Thanks!
Jesse.
3HP22 Flywheel/Flexplate Question
in BMW 2002 and other '02
Posted
Hi,
I recently bought a 3HP22 off Craigslist from a guy who had taken it out of his 2002.
It wasn't until I got home that I noticed that the flywheel was tiny compared to the one on my '75 A/T.
It appears to be the same as the flywheel/flywheel combo from an 320i with M10. Will this setup work on my '02?
Thanks,
Jesse.
