  1. Hi Lisa,

Just saw your beautiful car!!! wow... LOVE everything in and on it. Amazing. I was actually looking at 911 Singer and wondering why can't someone start something that make old bmw look like a refined bmw. And then my friend sent me your Petrolicious article... BLOWN away. I wish they would of done a video.

I'm actually restoring a 74 2002 right now... its in the shop getting done.... but its no where going to be near as awesome as yours.

Quick question.... where did you get that steering wheel? LOVE!!!

Thank you again for sharing such an amazing car.

Hey there Bruce! Sorry for such the late delay! I am still getting used to this new BMW2002FAQ format!

Thanks for the kind comments... ! I was totally surprised to see the article on Petrolicious too! :-)

My steering wheel is from a 1965 1800ti , I actually have 2 of them. One is with the old BMW font lettering from the 65 and the other is from a 67 with the newer BMW font. ;-)

I have somewhat of a steering wheel fetish and own some really rare original vintage BMW steering wheels.

As you know these restorations are not for the faint hearted... if it was easy...everyone would be doing it! So kudos to you for bringing back another 2002 to life! ;-) Wishing you lots of fun and luck with it!

My apology too.. i am also getting use to this site... hardly on it. sorry for the late reply.

hahahah yeah... i'm experiencing that right now... "these restorations are not for the faint hearted". Right now my car is in the body shop and it is going to take awhile. I'll definitely post before and after once its all done :-)

I love that steering wheel... but how is it though with steering a bigger wheel? specially if the car has no power steering.

Do you know anyone who maybe selling old body parts that is not rusted? I'm trying to find part of the C-Pillar for both side of the car and a little base of it. I'm attaching an image that shows how much I need. Basically I would need the outer skin plus the metal inside of it (mine is all rusted out inside so trying to fix it). If you know anyone or any place that may have it please help :(

      Thank you Lisa!
